About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I'd love to be a part of your travel adventures! I like meeting new people from all over the world and gleaning stories, opinions, language skills and smiles!
PHILOSOPHY
What a question....Why do I live my life....
I live from day to day as much as I can. Transitioning my focus from what I will be doing in five year, two year, the next 6 months, for lunch tomorrow, etc. to what I am doing now and how I can enjoy the present has been a considerable (but worthwhile) operation. The details are what catch my attention and teach me the most about myself and how I move through the world, what kinds of imprints I may be leaving behind and how I can make them more positive.
Things like watching two little boys, still bundled against the cold, rolling cans of Princess-cut green beans across the floor in a supermarket and giggling themselves mad keeps me interested in the lives and value of others.
I wonder at how talking to an old friend after a long period of non-communication can make the relationship new again; a fascinating rearrangement in the molecules of a once comfortable pairing of children, or teenagers becomes a collaboration of adults (who remain ever so childlike), exchanging advice on relationships, job hunts, and gastroentorologists!
I am just more and more excited for each day. Sometimes I need a reminder, of course, but generally I am diggin' on all that life has to offer me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Action movies like the new Batman series, think-films like Happy-Go-Lucky and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Foreign films like Jeux d-enfants and La Vita E Bella, Gut-busters like 40-year-old Virgin and Eddie Izzard stand-up....I like movies!
Books: We Need to Talk About Kevin, The Gargoyle, Frankenstein, The Golden Notebook, Memoirs of a Geisha, What I Talk About When I Talk About Running, Windup Bird Chronicle, Biographies and Memoirs had a special place for a while, but I am reading more fiction now
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
JUST ONE!? Can't. I slid down the Great Wall of China on a metal sled. I saw fireworks on New Years from a beach in Hawaii with a friend, and again five years later from a bus station in Hamburg with my soul-mate. I have been a patient in a smaller Chinese hospital where my roommate smoked cigarettes and ate take-out. I have watched my little brother perform a guitar solo on stage. That was probably the most amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
Special knowledge? I make pretty decent scrambled eggs...I know a bit about Greek mythology, I spent a lot of time with organized sports teams, I grew up in the church but found a different path later on, traveling to different parts of the world left me with a different outlook, a more inquisitive outlook, I would say.
In general, I like to suggest enthusiasm in trying new things to others. I am not particularly gifted in any one thing, but I will try most things, and with gusto!
