About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To live with a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind.
ABOUT ME
This is lame way to present it, but I like bullets. Here are the top 10 things to know about me. If you get these, you're on the right road to getting me.
1. I am the fifth of seven in my family.
2. I grew up on a dairy farm in the Midwest. I was a dairy princess and promoted the dairy industry. I never had my head carved out of butter, though!
3. I flew on a plane for the first time right before I turned 20. There weren't many opps to travel before I went to college.
4. I love math and numbers. "Numbers never lie," is one of my favorite quotes.
5. I will try almost anything once (no drugs, though).
6. I love exploring the world and am grateful for every opportunity I've had to travel. As a little girl on the dairy farm, I never dreamed I'd visit some of the place I've been.
7. I am so blessed to have a family that loves me, a roof over my head, food to eat every night, a job that pays the bills, and a faith in God. I am grateful that I don't have anything "real" to complain about.
8. At age 30 (well, almost!), I am still a horrible night owl and still haven't gotten used to getting up for work in the morning.
9. I like being a Catholic. Go figure.
10. Everyone has a story to tell; you just need to take the time to listen.
PHILOSOPHY
"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." -Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would enjoy being a part of your group and would like to try surfing a few couches.
I am open to hosting some people at my home, although you may have to sleep on the floor.
I would be so happy to share my beautiful city with you should you ever be in my area. I am definitely open to grabbing a cup of coffee or a drink.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None, yet. Maybe you can be my first?
Interests
Running- currently training for a marathon. Want to qualify for Boston. I teach a running class, too.
Baking- I won ribbons in 4-H for my baking and I have all my really good recipes committed to memory, i.e. I can bake for you if I'm on vacation.
Building "real" relationships with people- I love to meet with people face-to-face, send letters via e-mail or snail mail, and talk on the phone.
Economics- like I said, I like numbers.
Catholicism- I've spent a lot of time in the last couple years learning my faith and it's pretty interesting. I'm not in the business of convincing people to convert (religion is a choice every person makes for themselves), but I am very comfortable with where I am at in my journey and have no problem sharing it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: 80s... and it's all over the place. Pet Shop Boys, AC/DC, .38 Special, Dire Straits, Queen, it's all good. Anything I can dance to.
Movies: Life is Beautiful, Pan's Labyrinth.
Books: Shoeless Joe, The Bible, biographies, Investment Under Uncertainty. Just read Wuthering Heights.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Survived some pretty yucky things in my 20s and am a much calmer, empathetic person as a result.
Teach, Learn, Share
Also not sure what to say...
can teach you to bake or run
I can sew, but not well. I know enough to teach you the basics.
I love math and can make it fun. I use desserts as examples to explain math.
