Overview
About Me
Hard to describe yourself with the right words. And I am a bit scared of "big" words. So let's say;
“One day I will find the right words, and they will be simple.”
― Jack Kerouac
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing&hosting is one of the greatest ways to feel the real beauty of being on the road.
I first became a member with an old flatmate of mine (Helin) in 2009, we had a profile named "Berna and Helin" https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/1364294
We had a great time hosting lots of amazing people from all around the world in our cosy apartment in Kadikoy, Istanbul, back then. But now after a break of 5 years, neither of us remembers the email address or the password of this account:)
Now I am on the road and back on CS, with a brand new account, hoping to enjoy more CS experiences!
I have never liked the words "tourism", "touristic" or "tourist". And I guess CS is for the people who are not stereotype tourists staying in isolated hotels in the most touristic areas and doing only what all other tourists do with all other tourists, unfortunately missing all the fun. I believe that spending time with locals when travelling feels much more "real" than staying in hotels or hostels and no need to say that it gives you the chance to experience the real culture more closely.
Interests
Everything that makes life more beautiful.
Lampworking, a real meditation with magical melting glass.
Music, probably the only truth.
Photography, a great way of imprisoning the past.
Travelling, “Live, travel, adventure, bless, and don't be sorry.” Kerouac.
Cinema, "the most beautiful fraud in the world" Godard.
Street art, “There's nothing more dangerous than someone who wants to make the world a better place.” Banksy.
Lots lots more.... Reading, good coffee, balconies, good chats, early morning walks, red wine, turkish breakfast, narrow roads, sunset, dogs, trees, flowers, grass, stars, mountains, , , ,
