About Me

Total island girl who's only just discovering the rest of the world. Into tech, automation, inclusive global policies and development (the nonprofit kind - not the coding kind welp) and beer!

I'll try to make this more thorough next time but feel free to stalk me on insta until then @bernadinerecrio

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hello CS world! I'm trying to be a less awkward turtle and actually meet people when I travel, so here I am! I'm always down for a beer and I'm slowly easing myself into the idea of being welcomed into someone else's home enough to crash on their couch (which is a fairly ironic thing since my home country is huge on the whole hospitality thing). I will bring gifts. Please don't get weirded out. It's a cultural thing, my mans.

If I'm back home though (which I usually am), I'd be more than happy to take you for a pub crawl, see the museums, eat some local food and maybe even go rock climbing/waterfall hopping with you!

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

FKJ, Pan's Labyrinth & J.D. Salinger (uninspired, I know)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*insert Extreme Sport™ or volunteer tourism work here* (only kidding)

Teach, Learn, Share

All jokes aside I genuinely love talking about decentralization of cities, privacy policies regarding tech in particular and how I've personally automated a lot of little things in my life! (Lets geek out, basically.) I've been really into learning about growing my own spices and veggies, the concept of trying to make that sort of lifestyle accessible in busy cities with tiny spaces. Love learning more about world history and the world wars in particular, just because varying school systems all tackle them so differently! So please feel free to talk my ear off on that one.

What I Can Share with Hosts

If you're having me over I'm bringing you alcohol I am so sorry it isn't really a choice at this point so please plan ahead and inbox me if you have any Filipino faves. Don Papa if you drink top shelf stuff on the rocks, Barik if you're that friend who drinks cocktails exclusively but likes getting very, very drunk and some Pale Pilsen if we're going for the classic beer.
