Overview
About Me
I'm 37, but married with two kids of 4 and 10 years. We started early..
We live in Hanoi, Vietnam, where I work for Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development as a policy advisor for forest financing, in a position funded by the German Development Ministry. My wife Jen works as a mental health professional.
I love meeting new people, especially people who live very different lives than I do, so if we meet, you can see for yourself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I find CS is an excellent initiative and I've been hosted a few times very generously.
Interests
between work and family, I find little time for hobbies, but I try to get some exercise when I can.
- writing
- cooking
- yoga
- board games
- reading
- cycling
- skiing
- mountains
Music, Movies, and Books
Classical music (piano and wind instruments); Mr. Bean (i.e. very little TV in my life)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My first real travels at age 21, brought me to war-torn Sri Lanka, where I got to live in an orphanage for 8 months and work as an English teacher - and carpenter. I will always be glad that I did that then, and I was very fortunate - as I've also been since, it seems..
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always happy to share stories and conversations and I am often intrigued to learn how other people live and work and play.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As we have a relatively busy family life, I can only 'maybe host'. If it works, we can supply a bed in a guest room.
