About Me
*** Not accepting guests as we are embarking on an adventure ourselves in Scandinavia ***
Know me 1st in case i'm not the kind of host you want...
1) I'm unable to spend much time with you except for some evenings at home after my work. If you're looking for buddies to have some fun time around Singapore (eg. parties, pubs, bars), i'm not for you. I can't be your tour guide too, so you have to be independent but i can give you tips on where to go. I wanna help travelers save accommodation costs but i don't have time to entertain my guests beyond trading funny travel stories or having a good home-cooked meal.
2) If i do host you, appreciate if you could make the effort to leave a reference here. It'll be my guestbook for surfers.
Tips to make me say 'Yes' to your request...
1) I wanna give back to CS community as i've been recipient of many great stay, so preference is given to travelers who host!
2) I have a crazy desire to fill the CS hosting map, so if you're from nations that i've already hosted, you're low priority for acceptance. However if you're super entertaining in your introduction, i've no choice but to say 'Yes' even if i've hosted your fellow countryman before.
3) If you're requesting for 1 night only, i've to regretfully decline as it's not enough time to know each other. Request for 2-3 nights is best.
4) Read my profile fully before sending in your request (yes, including My Home section too) , it'll further your chance of receiving 'Yes'.
5) I only accept formal request - use the 'Request to Stay' in the CS system. Request through CS message will be declined as i need the system to help me keep track of my surfer's arrival.
6) I'm unable to accept request months ahead of your arrival. Send your couch request 1-2 weeks ahead or even last minute, because i live for the moment!
7) Complete your CS profile and be as long-winded as possible so that your potential hosts can identify any common interests. Because I'm opening my home to you, I also need to be assured you are not some weirdo. Short answers and zero reference is not going to help you. References by surfers or hosts are the best!
My work...
I am an IT Consultant working in the public sector, in the area of data network infrastructure. To me, Switches, Routers, Accelerators, Proxy, Loadbalancers, Network Access Control...are my playthings :)
My dream...
See as much of the world as possible and building friendships along the way.
My wife and I hope to explore the Iberian, Russia, Baltics and the Scandinavian one day.And we are ticking one off the list right now! As you can see, we love Europe.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
CS achieves 2 main objectives for me...
1) it offers accommodation at no cost - practical objective. Save costs and travel more!
2) it provides a platform for me to start friendships with people all over the world and allow both parties to experience each other's lives and culture.
Started my CS experience in 2015 in Europe. Met 5 great CS hosts. From it, gained an interest to be CS host to meet interesting travellers.
Interests
Traveling of course, that's what CS is all about! Catching a great movie, surfing the internet, enjoy great food, appreciate music though doesn't know how to play any musical instrument.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movie...
Think classic..."Forest Gump"...life is like a box of chocolate.
Book...
Not a reader like my wife.
Music...
No particular favourites but okay with anything.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Traveled half of continental Europe but my wife concur. She thinks amazing will be when I pick up the wok one day and cook an amazing meal. Amazing prophecy but what's a wok, wifey?
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to learn the lifestyle and culture of countries... understand their histories and any oddities, so it'll be great to share about each other's country.
I can teach some basic Mandarin and Singlish, so you can astound some locals when you're in Singapore. If you're instead inclined towards nerdiness, I can teach about routers and switches too :)
