Overview
About Me
I was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil and I have been living in Australia for the past 10 years. I feel I am a citizen of the world, with multiple homes and multiple links to many places.
I used the have dogs and cats as pets but I now live in a 2-room apartment and there is not much for pets but I do miss them. :-) I have a long term-relationship. My partner and I get along very well; we really enjoy each others' company. :-))
My friends say I am a happy and warm person. I hope they are right. I do have a good sense of humor.
I work at the university as a teacher and researcher of culture (consumer culture). As a researcher, I have been interested in the sharing economy and its development. One of my favorite topics there is value co-creation, that is, how can people create value for each other and together build a better world?
I find Couchsurfing a wonderful idea of how people can travel to learn, grow, share and be exposed to diverse people and different ways of living. I have done a bit of traveling in the past. I have been to more than 40 countries. I have also lived in the USA and the UK. And I love getting to know different people and cultures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My colleagues said I need to get out of my comfort zone and try new things. So I decided to start couchsurfing to meet new people and new ways of living (I used to do that in the past but I think I got a bit rusty). Need pto practice this again. :-)))
I also think I am very curious about people and places and Couchsurfing seems like an excellent way to get this first-hand experience of new people and new places.
Interests
I love traveling and meeting new people.
I love sharing traveling stories , doing things together, knowing about other people's lives
I love Learning, I love growing.
I think I am a good listener because I like to see life through other people's eyes. It is good to experience different worldviews, even when they are so different from mine. That's the fun of it, isn't it?
I love my work. I am currently engaged in a research project about value creation in the sharing economy and I am interested in learning more and experiencing the different ways participants in platforms to understand how to co-create value with the help of others.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: I love Spielberg's The Color Purple; I love science fiction (e.g., "Brazil the movie" ( by Terry Gillian), and the Matrix), I love more intimate movies too, like Kieslowski's three colors, Blue, White, Red.
I don't have time to watch TV series, but I have watched Game of Thrones, House of Cards and Sens8, and loved the three of them.
Music: I am terrible at remembering the names of songs and music...I am open to new experiences here.
Books ... I have read the trilogy of the Lord of the Rings when I was in Nepal, before it became famous as a movie. It made so much sense then. when I was walking in the mountains ... When I was a teenager, I enjoyed Herman Hesse's books. Nowadays I am more fascinated by biographies, non-fiction and personal development books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The 28-day walk of The Annapurna Trail in Nepal. One of the most memorable times of my life because there was an internal travel going on deeply while the external one happened. Both together were amazing.
I have also firewalked and skydived. One time each. LOL. But unforgettable experiences.
