About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet as many of the amazing people in the world as I can

ABOUT ME

I moved out to the Northwest from Ohio at the end of 2014 and am now working as a staff photographer at a newspaper in Yakima. Pictures and storytelling are two of my big passions.

I'm a hiker, always exploring all of the new-to-me sights that the PNW has to offer. On my days off I'm either out wandering, cooking up some fancy (vegetarian) meals with the ridiculously amazing produce in the valley, hitting up a wine tasting, or hanging out with my adorable fur-babies (Link and Zelda, respectively).

PHILOSOPHY

As long as you keep trying, it's impossible to fail.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm pretty new to CSing, but I participated in a group in Athens. I've hosted a few people and enjoyed the experience. The next trip is always around the corner, and I'm looking forward to experiencing couchsurfing as a surfer!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've only hosted, but that should be changing very soon!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Stay, 500 Days of Summer, The Puffy Chair, Inception

Books: Killing Yourself to Live, Chuck Palahniuk, Eve Ensler

Music: The Swell Season, Angus and Julia Stone, Metric, if I keep going this list will get ridiculous...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

climbed to the top or Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh, Scotland and watched the sun set.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm all about learning about the different experiences that people have gone through and various cultures. I'm pretty much obsessed with grasping the vastness of how different and similar we all are.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A pretty good idea of things to do around the valley. I may be new here, but working in the newspaper means that, for the most part, I know my way around.

Healthy and funky recipes. I play around in the kitchen, and am happy to cook with/for guests.

Stories. I'm all about grabbing coffee or a drink and talking about anything and everything.
