About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Understand the places I go to better

ABOUT ME

Just graduated from university, and am currently enrolled in a post-graduate diploma in education! I hope my travel experiences will give me stories I can share with my students in future :)

I hope to understand and learn about different cultures and traditions from around the world! This is one reason why I've always wanted to travel alone as it opens up more opportunity to conversations and interactions with locals, and would allow me to travel at my own pace.

PHILOSOPHY

Happiness is all in the mind :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm living with my family, and so would be inconvenient to host. However, I will gladly show you around Singapore if you'd like! Just drop me a message :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The one I had was extremely enriching and remains to be one of the most memorable trips I've had.

Interests

community service/ volunteerism
cooking and baking (I've been trying my hand mostly at cooking asian food! And I would really love to bake more)
reading (though I haven't had the time to properly read a novel for quite a few years already)
watching movies! (i have a particular penchant for Asian movies), Hiking/trekking!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

An overseas community involvement programme in a village in Laos. It was an amazing experience in all aspects - I understood for myself the meaning of such service, truly immersed myself into their culture and became like family with the villagers we stayed with. Life was simple there, but there was so much to learn and appreciate.

It was also where I saw my first shooting star and the milky way :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Chinese phrases (and Singlish - that's what they call Singaporean English) if you would like! (I'll throw in a complimentary translation of your name to Chinese and Korean characters too ;))

I can also share with you tips on visiting Singapore (where to eat/go etc), or share with you any information (hopefully I know them!) about Singapore!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I could cook you a Singaporean/Chinese meal perhaps? :)

Countries I’ve Visited

China, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Indonesia, Italy, Laos, Malaysia, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In
