About Me

CURRENT MISSION

showing our two sons the beauty of the world

ABOUT ME

During the last 5 years I travelled lot around Europe and the States....
My girlfriend and I love the idea and the entire cs-spirit. Due to our overwhelming cs experiences we would love to give something back and keep the spirit going. We love to cook and sit around a table with friends and quests in Vienna and on the road with a cs crowd. So far we managed to cook at each cs place where we both have been and we try to keep that tradition alive:)

While being on the road I love to take black and white pictures; back home I convert my bathroom into a dark room and develop the pictures with my girlfriend.

I think that I am very talkative and open-minded. Music and arts play both an important role in my life. When it comes to music, I am a fan of classic rock from the 1960's and 1970's.

According to art and design: My all time favourties are the French Impressionts, German Expressionists and some of Warhol's star portraits. When it comes to applied art I am into art deco and Jugendstil.

PHILOSOPHY

To see and explore the world and get to know not only the places but also the people that are living there!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, I do participate in CS both as a host and as a surfer.

As a surfer I act in accordance with my host, who thankfully has invited me to stay at her/his couch and provides me some advices in order to get to know the place I am visiting better.

While I enjoy surfing a lot, I must admit that I also do love to host people, because then I can give something back to the community.

As a host, I can give my guests sugguests what to see and do in Vienna, invite them to share dinner with me and my friends, going out for city walks, bike rides....

Interests

travelling, cooking, music, playing the guitar, photography (black&white), exploring flea markets (I am collecting vinyls, books,..), collecting chairs & refurbish them, drinking tea

Music, Movies, and Books

Rolling Stones, John Lennon, Bob Dylan are all time favourites....mixed with up-to-date alternative-indie rock, then the day will be okay.
Movies: old french movies like the Swimming Pool.....
Last book I really enjoyed was by Stefan Zweig, The world of Yesterday - great portrait of the Austrian Society in the first half of the 20th Century

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Greatest time so far:
My 5 month stay in Habana (Cuba), where I helped Cuban Students to learn German while learning Spanish!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, since I am teaching at a grammar school Mathematics, I can help you to brush up your knowledge about functions, equations,....if you would like.
But you could also talk with my about the art history of Vienna - I am especially interested in the turn of the century art (Jugendstil)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I am quite communicative I could most probably share my interests in arts, literature, history, travelling, politics.... in a fine conversation. And moreover, I think the most important thing you could share nowadays is time, which gets precious especially once you are working full-time and having a family with kids.
