About Me
Hi!
My name is Berta, I'm an 18 year old girl from Barcelona, Spain. I like to go on adventures with my friends and meet new people on the way. Travelling is one of my passions and I love to get to experience and know new countries and cultures different to mine. I'm quite an open and easy-going person. Also, I love art and music, that's why I always try to go to museums or concerts of all kinds.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I think that it's a fun and alternative way to get to know a country or region and its locals on a deeper level. Also, it enables people to connect and create international bonds. I'm on Couchsurfing to step out of my comfort zone and have new experiences!

Music, Movies, and Books
I like almost all kinds of music, but some of my favourite genres are rumba, cumbia, ska, Jazz or indie rock. My favourite artists are Earth Wind and Fire, Arctic Monkeys, Mac Demarco, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and some spanish and catalan groups like La Raíz, Zoo, Estopa, Mafalda or La Sra.Tomasa.
My favorite film director at the moment is Wes Anderson, who makes very aesthetic and well-made films.
My favourite book is The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Each summer I go on hiking trips with my group of friends and it is sometimes quite the challenge! We climb mountains and live the adventure and at the same time we enjoy nature and the wilderness of the forests!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can show or teach people my mother tongue, which is catalan! Catalonia is a region of Spain which is not always very known and so it would be fun to show my not so common language to other people and talk to them about the catalan culture, which differs a bit from the spanish one. Anyways, I would also love to teach spanish to other couchsurfers, as it is a more common language.
Also, I love to learn new stuff, especially about other cultures or languages! We can have loooong conversations about art, feminism, music or whatever the topic!
What I Can Share with Hosts
As I said before, I can share a bit of my culture through my language, but I can also cook some very tasty dishes from my country which I'm sure other couchsurfers will love! Some pà amb tomàquet with fuet and a beer are the perfect combination to get to know someone!
