About Me

I'm a calm person who loves to hang out with people. I can be quite shy in the beginning, but when I get to know someone I open up. I don't like small talk. When I'm having a conversation I like to really get to know the other person and discuss interesting topics. I love to meet all kinds of people and I'm into a lot of things. I may not be familiar with your interests or hobbies, but I'm always eager to learn more about it.

Right now I'm taking a gap year. I just got my Bachelor's in Psychology and now I want to travel. This past year I've spent a month in northern Italy and two months in South-Africa.

Vegetarian
Hufflepuff!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always been a very introverted person and by couchsurfing I hope to step out of my comfort zone. Couchsurfing is a way to challenge myself to get out there. I want to meet new people, get to know cultures, and share my experiences with someone, because in the end everything is more fun when you share with other people.

Interests

I love to dance! I have danced multiple styles and not long ago discovered Irish dancing. I was surprised by how much I love it. I also danced Jazz, Modern, Rock 'n' Roll and some more styles. I'd still like to learn more, like the salsa, kizomba and anything else really.

I study psychology and find human behaviour and thinking super interesting. When I finish my studies I hope to work with children to give them a better future.

Languages are awesome, can't learn enough languages.

I'm also into sustainable living and caring for the animals. I always wanted to be a vet, but for some stupid reason gave up on that dream.
I have two guinea pigs (even though they're at my parent's place): Maya and Louna and they're super cute.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge reader and I like reading from every genre, but Fantasy will always be my favourite. Some of my favourites are:
The Night Circus - Erin Morgenstern
The Shadow of the Wind - Carlos Ruiz Zafón
The Mistborn Trilogy - Brandon Sanderson
The Name of the Wind - Patrick Rothfuss

Favourite movies of mine are the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, Premonition, Finding Neverland, and more. Annihilation is also cool.

Music: Laura Pausini. I love many more artists, for example Shakira, Demi Lovato and Ed Sheeran, but Laura Pausini is the best. If I'm in Italy, it's safe to assume I'm there to visit her concerts! I'm also into Irish folk, by the way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is very non specific, but I believed in myself when no one else did and proved them all wrong. I never gave up and I think that's an amazing thing to do.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you dutch, I can learn anything, and I can share my happiness with others.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'll be genuinely interested in you as a person as well as in your culture and language. I can cook if you like, or bake something nice. If you feel like it, we can explore the city/town together and we can have some fun.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Africa, Spain, Swaziland, Switzerland
