*Insert something about finding myself and becoming one with nature*
ABOUT ME
What's to say? Worked in development and human rights education before moving back home to Malta and becoming a newspaper journalist.
Took a break from that to backpack through Asia, and after that found myself in Australia. Spent a year in the outback and now one in the city (Melbourne) - now it's time to get moving again!
I'm a bit of a restless soul, having moved and lived to various corners of the globe over the past three decades. And to be perfectly honest, I don't see that changing anytime too soon :)
Anyway, if you need info/help with regards to Malta, Dublin, Barcelona, Zambia or backpacking through Central America, just give me a shout!
PHILOSOPHY
"The past is action without choice"
"Don't wait for the last judgment - it takes place every day." - Albert Camus
"All great truths begin as blasphemies." - George Bernard Shaw
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I gave them money once upon a time, I've hosted a couple of people and been hosted many other times, and had made it to a couple of CS meet ups when I lived in Dublin, as well as one in Bangalore.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couchsurfed several times and always enjoyed myself. Also hosted a bunch of people when I lived in Dublin.
Only time something went slightly wrong was when the person meant to host me forgot I was coming and left town that day. Just another thing to add to the storybook :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Hmm, where to start!
Books - 'The Fall' (Camus), 'The God of Small Things' (Roy), 'The Glass Bead Game' (Hesse), 'The Trial' (Kafka), 'A Confederacy of Dunces' (Toole), 'Don Quixote' (Cervantes), and then the Hunter S. - Bukowski - Burroughs - Selby Jnr types. Obviously loads more...Orwell, Burgess, Huxley, Wilde, James, Fitzegerald etc too. Oh, and 'The Da Vinci Code' (HA! Gotcha! Just kidding)
Movies - Dolls, Zoolander, In the Mood for Love, Raging Bull, Blow, The Counterfeiters, Y Tu Mama Tambien
Music - Too many singers/bands to list. Anything from Bob Dylan to The Smiths to Fela to Nick Cave to Diplo to Bonobo to Richie Hawtin.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's a toss up between watching the sun rise over the din of howler monkeys at Tikal, Guatemala, or bungee jumping into the Zambezi river.
Teach, Learn, Share
Hmm... I could help you with your English, Italian or Spanish. Or teach you some Maltese, if you're inclined to learn our beautiful (though utterly useless internationally) language.
I can also hopefully share some of the things I've learnt from working with impoverished Zambian communities, and I do a wicked crash course in modern European history.
Practical skills...I can teach you to open a beer bottle with a lighter. Lame, I know.
