About Me

I'm studying journalism in Moscow State Pedagogical University. I work as pr-manager in the online magazine 365mag.ru.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

That's a wonedrful experience of communication and cultural exchange. I like going for a walk through the center of Moscow and would be glad if someone comes along.

Interests

I'm dreaming of became a professional culture journalist. And i approach my goal step by step.

It’s impossible to become a professional journalist if you only practice writing but neglect reading. I have set my heart on writing interesting articles which can engage a reader’s imagination. This is why I try to read and write as much as possible, both in English and in Russian. For example, I have written articles for online magazines, devoted to photography. My latest material was about
pictorialism, which poses photography as art. I should state here that I'm really into photography. I'm fond of both writing about famous photographers and taking my own pictures with my camera, which is much older than I am. It is an old soviet brand called “Zenit,” which isn’t in production anymore. I have also contributed to an online magazine, devoted to contemporary culture.

Music, Movies, and Books

My own articles are inspired by books. In particular, some books have changed my mind fundamentally. For instance, Fyodor Dostoevsky's "Crime and punishment" revealed the hidden problems in a teenager's life, for example excessive presumption causes serious problems. The satire "1984" by George Orwell opened my eyes of the role the mass media play in present times. "A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess made me realise that humans are inclined or even drawn to violence, unfortunately. So this for me is proof that writers and their ideas can help me unlock feelings and emotions, (positive and negative) in my mind and I keep trying to analyse them. Some emotions I try to embrace while others I try desperately to resist.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bulgaria, Turkey, Ukraine
