About Me

Why hello there!

I grew up in Nebraska, about as far away from the coastline as you can get in the states. It's flat and filled with cows and cornfields as far as the eye can see. As beautiful as it is, it made me yearn to explore the rest of the world.

After getting my degree in Marketing, I decided that I don't know what the hell to do with that little certificate that cost me thousands of dollars, so I might as well see the world because hey why not.

Currently in Australia, and for the first time in my life, I'm both excited and overjoyed to not have a next step "plan". I have always had the next step of my life planned out, but now I'm sitting back and seeing where life takes me. That's why I want to get into couch surfing. I want to meet people from all over the world, hear about different experiences and lifestyles and then share those with others as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm traveling and I like to sleep with a roof over my head, call me high maintenance.

But really though, I am admittedly new to couch surfing, but I think I get the gist of how it works. That being said, I am looking for that more genuine experience of getting to know people in the local areas I'm staying, to help truly dive deeper and immerse myself in the culture of wherever I happen to be. I don't mind hostels, but am looking for something that feels a bit more homey

Interests

I love yoga, music and shows, travel (obviously), hiking, camping, skiing, festivals, beer and whiskey, and shenanigans in good measure.

Music, Movies, and Books

Led Zeppelin
Radiohead
Anything nonfiction
Into the Wild
Stupid tv shows like the Bachelor are my guilty pleasure

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Became addicted to Burning Man-seriously, don't ever go. You'll never want to do anything else

I almost died once while on a canoeing trip on the Boundary Waters in Minnesota-but I didn't so you know, that's nice.

Snorkeled with the fishies in the islands of Thailand but got a way more impressive sunburn

Teach, Learn, Share

I just find traveling the best way to feel small. As a friend once said, "there is nothing grander than feeling tiny". It really puts things into perspective, that we are just tiny little specs on this giant piece of rock hurling itself through space-some may find it depressing, but I say Hey! Eat all the burritos you can while you're here!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Free yoga instruction and lovely conversation!

I'm an alright cook-but I can't talk and cook at the same time, that takes too much focus that I just do not have

I oddly like cleaning, so take advantage of this.

I'm really awkward and bump into things/fall down a lot so I'm good for a laugh at the very least (I'm usually the one laughing the hardest)

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Cambodia, Canada, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, United States
