About Me

I love to travel and have been lucky enough to visit many amazing parts of the world.

I went tor teachers college in Australia, then lived in the UK for 4 years where I taught teachers to teach phys ed/gym/sports.

Then I moved back home to Canada and opened a sweatshop-free clothing store, which I had for 5 years. I loved it, but it was pretty stressful.

So a year and a half ago I decided I loved traveling more than my store, so I sold it and hit the road. Along the way I started volunteering teaching English to refugees in Lesvos, Greece. Which made me wonder why I ever left teaching. However, it didn't take me long to realise just how different teaching English to adults is from teaching sports to kids. So I went to Turkey, got my Celta (certification (English teaching qualification) and am making my way back to Lesvos to volunteer as a teacher again.

I love sports and being outside. I try my best to find a local gym to work out at when I'm on the road.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting people. It's probably my favourite part of traveling. I love understanding other people's point of view and getting an understanding of different cultures.

I like new experiences. Although I've traveled lots, I've never couch surfed. I thought it was time to try it.

I love documentaries, because I love learning new things.

I just finished reading The Poinsonwood Bible (don't worry it isn't a religious book) and I think its my new favourite book (if you like historical fiction with some social comment you should read it).

I'm always up for a good board game.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm new to being an English as a foreign language teacher soI would love the practice of helping you with your English. I can give 1 on 1 lessons.

I love to talk about politics and learn other people's opinions.

I know quite a bit about running a small business and am always happy to chat about entrepreneurship.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company, laughs, good conversation and hopefully a good meal.
