About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Being a good citizen of Earth - balancing grand plans for what to do when I grow up, while trying to clean out my garage,
ABOUT ME
I'm a Montessori art teacher, and landscape designer. When I was a kid, I wanted to discover new worlds and loved to read World Book Encyclopedia so it's great to hit the road sometimes! One photo shows me with some of my large family...but I had a hair cut and so I updated to look more like myself. Living on an island with kids, dogs, and chickens is kind of the opposite of what I'd had in mind, but it turns out it's pretty wonderful.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm just so glad to be here, wherever that is.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Sometimes, it's good to get away from my dogs. I love seeing new things!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just getting started with it.
Interests
I've got older kids and my husband is a cycle crazed commuter. We built our own house over 20 years ago - lived on the east coast and Chicago before then. Now I garden and hike and visit friends in summer, and work insanely during the school year...I love art, dancing, architecture, being outside, good food. I would say board games but I've been on a losing streak.

Music, Movies, and Books
From old classic movies like "Gone With The Wind" to goofy comedies like "Office Space" to serious dramas like the Japanese film, "Departures". On TV, I enjoy Anthony Bourdain, "The Office", documentaries. And became addicted like everyone else to "Downton Abbey". Music I prefer classical or contemporary, but am not dogmatic.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have handled amazing pieces of art when I worked at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Also we moved across the country in our Toyota Tercel without ever having been here. But the biggest thing I've done is raise our two "kids" now ages 22 and 18.
Teach, Learn, Share
Glad to point out cool places on my little island where I've lived for so long. My large ornamental garden is fun to explore and depending on the season we usually have lots of fresh herbs.
