About Me
ABOUT ME
Hello, all! I'm a 22 year old student at Oxford University. I hail from Shropshire, a rural English county and live there with my family during university holidays.I enjoy participating in sport (anything from rowing to skiing, via netball and running) and love to watch rugby and football. I am a tryer and am keen to experience new things.Time spent with friends often involves going out to a club or party, watching plays, playing sport or going to gigs. I love any excuse to listen to music and dance. I'm also a bit of a geek when it comes to fancy dress...I am in my final year at university so need to spend a lot of time studying but I have just got involved with a charity project which will send me to Kenya for 10 weeks next summer so I now devote a lot of energy to fundraising and preparation for that.I hope you'll find me a friendly person and a great couch surfer!
PHILOSOPHY
I'm an optimist who looks for the good in people and situations. I think this means I am more willing to engage in new adventures because I am not so worried by risk as others might be. I want to seize every opportunity I am given and not regret missing any chances.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am new to couch surfing so I'm not sure how I participate yet... I will initially look to being a surfer and hopefully in time will be able to host others. I really enjoy meeting new people and would love it if they could offer me more than just the couch i.e. show me the local sites/activities, but I'd also be happy with just somewhere to lay my head.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy films that make me think and feel at the same time; thrillers and dramas are more my type than rom-com, but I obviously love a laugh too.Music-wise I think it really depends on the situation, my favourite artists to sit down and listen too are quite folky/indie, but I like all types, and require a booming bass if clubbing.I love to read and my house is full of books; I try not to limit myself to one genre, but probably get the most out of historical novels.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I travelled around Cuba with a friend one summer and was amazed by the attitudes of people living there, both positive and negative towards the regime. What stuck with me most was those brave enough to speak to strangers about real life there despite risking arrest (which I also witnessed). The country is fascinating and beautiful and I would reccommend a visit to anyone.
Teach, Learn, Share
I want to learn how to play the guitar or drums (or any instrument, really!) and to use a sewing machine properly.I can teach others... how to use ordinary items to make a great fancy dress outfit, lots of different hair and make-up looks and how to hula-hoop.I am also used to sharing ideas and arguing (in the positive sense) with others about philosophy, politics and various BIG questions and enjoy engaging on this level.
