About Me

I like to work for a few months and then use my savings to do interesting things, travel, and volunteer.

Work less, earn less, consume less!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My parents have hosted couchsurfers for as long as I can remember - I think it's a great way to meet like-minded people and practice good karma!

Interests

I'm very interested in community living and housing. I feel that lack of community (leading to isolation, loneliness and depression) are a big problem in the UK, and we need to start thinking about ways to combat that.

I studied traditional music at Newcastle University - I am fascinated by the traditional music of other cultures, especially Indonesian traditional music! Other interests include cooking and baking, playing violin, science fiction, astronomy, astrobiology, watching live music, sustainable agriculture, teaching and learning new languages.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading, and I mainly read science fiction and post-apocalyptic novels. I like anything that makes you think about the future of humanity and plausible future scenarios, as well as realistic depictions of other possible forms of life. I LOVE having books recommended to me so please get in touch if you think there's something I would enjoy, or if you want to have a geek-out about sci-fi!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travelled all around the world when I was younger and i firmly believe that the amazing experiences and hard times we went through made me who I am today. I am continuously awestruck by the world and its massive contrasts of good and bad... it's a good way to put things into perspective and avoid getting caught up in the millions of trivial problems we create for ourselves in our privileged society.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English language, cooking, baking and violin. I love to learn other languages and I would like to share music with people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm a good cook and would love to cook for you and your household!
