Overview
About Me
I'm Bethany- I've taught English Literature to teenagers in the US for 5 years and I loved it! I'm currently working on my MA in the UK, so I'd like to take this opportunity to travel Europe, see new things, meet new friends, and have an adventure! I've previously traveled to Germany, the Bahamas, Japan, Poland, Paris, and multiple states within the US.
I'm very accepting of the languages, beliefs, and cultures of others- and I especially love trying the authentic food of whatever country I'm visiting. I'm loving every second of being an international student, and I hope I can take full advantage of being so close to such amazing places.
I believe language is key to connection. Houston is very diverse, and I'm used to being surrounded by many languages other than English- If I could learn every language in the world, I would! I hope to learn a bit everywhere I go.
I am looking forward to adventure, and to meeting Couchsurfers as I go.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm trying to be budget conscious, as I am a student without an income at the moment. But I'm determined to travel and see more of this beautiful world while I'm so far away from home. I've heard really good things about Couchsurfing, and I'd like to see what it's all about.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have been accepted to get my MA in the UK after teaching secondary English Literature in the states!
I am the oldest of 4 sisters, and we are all best friends.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I was raised in Texas, the deep south of the US, and southern hospitality is no joke. I was taught to say "yes ma'am" and "no sir," and if you came to my house, I'd tell you to make yourself right at home and you'd have a lemonade or an iced tea in your hand within 5 minutes of arriving.
I love treating others with acceptance and care, and I hope to stay with hosts who do the same.
I'm very neat and tidy; I'll leave the room as is or neater than I found it most likely, and I'll probably make you coffee in the morning too!
