My name is Bethany, I am an environmentalist, and I'm currently solo-traveling on a year-long journey across Southeast Asia and Europe to learn about local sustainability efforts. I love connecting with new people and learning about different journeys and perspectives, and especially love connecting with the local communities I am traveling in. I love nature, reading, watching movies, and making new cities my home away from home beyond visiting all the tourist sites (although of course I love those too!)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to connect with people and places on a deeper level than you can necessarily get from a hostel. Tell me about your local politics, how people feel about that new development or government project, which parks people exercise in at sunset, the cafes that don't mind me camping out on my laptop...I love learning the small things about a new place.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've learned a lot about sustainability over the years, so I'd be happy to share tips on what you can do to help save the planet. I've only lived in the US, but I can happily share about my experience growing up in New Hampshire and living in New York (upstate, not the city!), and I love helping people improve their English by practicing and explaining why I say certain things as a native speaker.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not great at cooking but love to be a helping hand in the kitchen, so I'd love to assist in preparing your favorite meals and then do the dishes after! I also love to spend nights in, so I'm happy to share in your favorite movies, TV shows, board games, or whatever other hobbies, and I'll do my best to share the same!
