Overview
About Me
I'm a 30-year-old female, and am very down-to-earth, non-judgmental, open-minded, responsible, respectful, organized, and very clean. I grew up in Minnesota, and then went to college at Cornell University for hotel/restaurant administration. I started up a food truck, I worked in NYC, then LA. I felt I was constantly running through life, and eventually, I knew I had to step away from it all and take a break.
My version of taking a break was starting my own business. But honestly, I am so much less stressed than before, and I have had an amazing journey full of learning, personal development, and taking time to get to know myself. Since May 2018, I started house/petsitting, visiting friends/family, and doing lots of traveling within the U.S. and abroad through work-trades. Since covid, I've taken a pause in my nomading and have been living on Maui.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm an absolute people person, and I love the idea of staying on someone's couch and getting to know/hang out with future friends, especially when traveling solo. Getting to know a place through the people that live there is what makes travel meaningful to me--otherwise, it seems pretty empty.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm usually happy with listening to any type of music (sans hard rock/heavy metal). My typical genres include classic rock, latin, some pop, and classical. The best music is definitely the in-person kind. Love playing the piano and hearing others share their talents!
I'm good for any movie that isn't sad/scary, but my favs are anything adventure, inspirational, and (don't judge me!) rom com's.
Leo Tolstoy is one of my favorite authors. However, most often you'll find me reading books in the personal development genre.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I definitely have a few conversation starters when it comes to travel escapades I should have never told my parents about. This may or may not include a time when I illegally crossed a country border (on accident!)
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always down to talk about health, life, perspective, etc. I'm usually the person you get into the deep life conversations with right away :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Besides health/lifestyle knowledge, I love sharing stories to get to know one another. I'm very friendly, and am not at all opposed to going out on an adventure during the day or hanging out at home in the evening. I'm here for the experience and meeting new friends--making the world a smaller place.
