I was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, but my most recent residence in the States was Washington, D.C. where I lived for six years. For the past year, I've been living in Panajachel, Guatemala on the beautiful Lake Atitlan. Professionally, my passions are for supporting the human rights of vulnerable populations, with a focus on Latin Americans and migration. Personally, I love yoga (which I also teach), meditation, sustainable agriculture, reading, cooking, and traveling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After living in Guatemala for the past year, I'm off on my next adventure which I think will take me to Mexico City. Accordingly, I'll be visiting CDMX soon (for the first time) and want to give Couchsurfing a try to meet locals who can show me around and share with me their honest thoughts and opinions about the city.

Interests

I'm kind of a free-spirit, but not in the supper hippie kind of way, more just in that I'm super mellow and enjoy connecting with nature, I follow a (mostly) vegetarian diet, and love yoga and meditation. My hobbies tend to reflect my personality traits. I love going for long strolls with or without a destination in mind. Reading in a park under a tree is probably one of my favorite things to do to unwind and relax. And in evening listening to chill music (live or not) with a glass of wine and (with or without) good company is amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a certified yoga instructor and happy to give personal or group classes . My teaching style is alignment focused and heavy in meditation and relaxation. Also, I spent the last year teaching, so I would be happy to provide private or group English conversation practice. Other than that, I love to cook and garden so I'd be happy to help out with those things (especially if we could cook local dishes together)!
