About Me

ABOUT ME

Live your life with love and a smile, and that is the best thing you can do. I truly believe laughter and kindness make the world go round...as well as good food, dancing, music for different moods, beautiful sights, and the stories of others. I am passionate about experiencing new cultures and learning from people I meet, for how else can we be global citizens if we don't go out and share our traditions and thoughts? I try to take time to enjoy the little moments, I am honest, I care for those in my life deeply, and one word to describe me would be "cheerful"...because I smile a lot and I love the sunshine. :)

PHILOSOPHY

"Life is about the people you meet and the things you create with them. So go out and start creating." I read this somewhere and it has stuck with me ever since. I love traveling and cannot wait to keep meeting people, exploring, discovering, and creating.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's been almost four years since participating in Couchsurfing, but I am so excited to start again, to once again find myself in the warm company of someone I just met and sharing a new experience together. My husband and I also want to try hosting soon once things settle down for us in La Spezia (now that it is post-wedding).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Four years ago, I met the love of my life, Roberto Villani, through Couchsurfing. I had one week left of traveling when we met...and that day changed both of our lives. We dated and traveled between Italy and the United States for a few years before I moved to Italy and we later celebrated our marriage. Couchsurfing changed our lives, and as I also have met other amazing people through this site, I cannot wait for new opportunities and friendships.

The best thing about Couchsurfing: you never know who you'll meet. ;)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hard to choose just one thing! So many moments have popped up in traveling.
Walking through the streets of Istanbul during the prayer call.
Eating "chocolate caliente" in a little cafe in Barcelona.
Seeing a sunset in Santorini.
Sitting on a rock ledge in Morocco overlooking the point where the Mediterranean and Atlantic Ocean meet.
Zip-lining over the rain forest in Costa Rica.
Camping on the beach.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach English to any level and any age, but also love sharing idioms and expressions through talking.
I always want to learn how to cook new recipes from a place I visit.
I want to continue learning Spanish, and of course to continue to improve my Italian. I desire traveling to Argentina though to work on Spanish and tango! :)
I love dance and have done a salsa and swing class - both of which I want to continue - but I've always wanted to learn how to tango!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Some yummy recipes, stories, and friendly personality :)
I am also very clean, respectful, and conscientious of the home I am staying in
Hopefully we can share some coffee in the morning (I am a huge coffee fan!)
