About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To not settle anywhere! Keep my feet touching new grounds always. Meeting new people with the same passion for wandering that I have, building connections and friendships, spreading positivity if I can, and learning from those around me.
Currently traveling through the US again with my partner, devouring as much hiking and climbing and national parks as we can along the way.
My partner, Nick: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/nick-carter-5 (he is new to CSing specifically, but is a well experienced traveler across the US, Europe, and South America)
ABOUT ME
Hi! My name is Beth!
I am currently pretty damn in love with this life I lead--it's constantly full of new places, faces, and experiences everywhere I go. Life is too short for me to sit in one place and work behind a desk or in front of a computer. I lived the boss-lady career already and decided it is not the right path for me, but more power to ya if you enjoy that lifestyle. No judgements here. Life is precious, and my little goal on this planet is to spread as much positivity and encouragement to those around me that I can. Give to others with your words and actions and heart, treat them how you would like to be treated, and respect yourself and your planet. I've been given some amazing opportunities and been blessed by random people incredibly throughout my life, and I want to pay that forward. You get what you give, ya feel me?
More about myself; I love a glass of wine or a cup of tea paired with pleasing conversation. If "too much tea" was a problem, I'd have it. I enjoy reading, documentaries, and writing whatever my head comes up with. I'm mainly vegetarian but eat meat some times.
Camping, hiking, climbing, good music and local shows, crafting, and reading are my favorite things. I'm open to try just about anything new; try everything once and go from there. I crochet, sew, and cook a lot. Let me make you delicious meals!
PHILOSOPHY
Don't wait for life to happen--go out and live to your fullest, live in the moment. Live it with an open mind and don't knock something until you try it. Try not to judge others as much as possible; be impeccable with your words. And most importantly, live positively and with love to others, yourself, and with everything you do. Life is a balance; you get what you give.

Music, Movies, and Books
Documentaries are my favorite. Scifi, horror, independent and foreign films, drama, suspense. Huge horror movie nerd, but pretty much any genre of movie interests me.
Music is varied, but mainly folk, punk, older country, some indie, classical, etc. currently listening to a lot of Protomartyr, Appalachian Terror Unit, Ty Segall, Useless Eaters, Elliott Smith, Orchid Mantis, Thee Oh Sees, The Shins, Mac Demarco, Dave and the Strange, Paint Fumes, John Frusciante, Leonard Cohen, Townes Van Zandt, Phantogram, etc.
Lover of many books; lovecraft, vonnegut, woolf, bradbury, asimov, hesse, palahniuk, robbins, vonnegut, king
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sunsets and sunrises in the Sahara desert of Morocco, volunteering throughout 9 different countries, surviving a 20ft free fall off a boulder while hiking.
I've been to all but 5 US states and plan on finishing those in the next few years
Teach, Learn, Share
I can whip you up some delicious meals, teach you how to crochet (handy for making blankets/scarves during winter or for trading), and hopefully introduce you to some new authors or musicians you might enjoy.
Hoping to learn a bit more about sustainable agriculture and also learn to cook more vegan/vegetarian and ethnic dishes. Practicing my German would be neat!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Show you some good breweries, places to get your grub on, take you to some local shows, CITY MUSEUM (which is absolutely a MUST SEE here), etc etc.
Countries I’ve Visited
