Overview
About Me
I am native Texan and have been living in the best capital there is, Austin, for the past six years. I am very easygoing and love to be around people. I am not much of a homebody- I am always looking for something new to do! I always strive to not judge anyone when I first meet them and show everyone I encounter with respect. I believe that everyone is equal and we all deserve to be treated that way.
A major part of the reason that I make traveling a priority in my life is that I desire a deeper understanding of the world around me. I hope that through my travels and the relationships that I form, I will be able to bring about positive change in society.
Oh and I also have a 3 year old terrier mix that is the absolute best.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a win-win. Not only are you saving money by not using a hotel but you have the chance to meet and interact with people in a way that you might not usually do. I am just now becoming more active with Couchsurfing despite having an account since 2013. I have yet to host someone in my own home but I plan to in the future when I am more settled. In my opinion, couchsurfing is about community and helping one another out. So that is why I am part of it.
Interests
I have a never ending thirst for travel and am constantly looking for ways to experience new places, people, and cultures! I have studied abroad in Perugia, explored parts of France, Spain, and the Netherlands, lived for a brief time in Northern India, gone on multiple trips to both Mexico and Ghana, and camped around the United States over the years.
Aside from traveling, I enjoy being part of a active, vibrant, and growing Austin community. Although I plan on relocating elsewhere soon, Austin will always be my home. Swimming is by far my favorite activity to do- I would live in water if I could. Dancing comes in a close second place. I also enjoy reading and listening to all types of music.
Food, cooking food, and eating food are all a very important part of my life (obviously). I am a huge proponent of having a healthy lifestyle and paying attention to what you put in your body. I also believe that one should always try everything at least once even if it looks positively disgusting. Food has a way of revealing aspects of a culture that many other avenues do not (plus, its almost always delicious).
