About Me

CURRENT MISSION

in support of benevolent strangers finding eachother... upgrading the definition of humanity... swapping random generosities.
**due to parenting & freelancing complexities....I cannot host with less than a month's notice. If you are planning in advance, then sure, send me a request to see if something can work out!

ABOUT ME

Came full-circle to Portland, after Savannah>Seattle>Philadelphia>Taos
I have an 11 year old son who lives with me, and we are generally experimenting with musical gadgets in the living room or on the porch, depending on weather. Also comic books, gourmet snacks, and shooting hoops are mainstays in our lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I did post a couch a few years back in New Mexico (when I had one)...then I've surfed a few in NYC and also Europe. Met some interesting individuals...some became long-term friends. Now I have a couch/bed again, so - whenever friends aren't visiting or life isn't too hectic (which is most of the time) it's possible to loan out occasionally!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am humbled by the gifts and generosities of strangers. Somehow - it can be difficult to be on the receiving end. But so important to know how to jump into that cycle of interconnection and interdependence, and give when the chance comes for you to offer what you have. (currently reading Charles Eisenstein's "Sacred Economics" about gifting as a way of life...beautiful! I recommend!)

Interests

Hedgehogs.
Sketching while talking.
Soaking in hotsprings, especially in the southwest.
But actually hot water, anywhere, will do.
Playing hillbilly-frantic-gypsy-bluegrass-experimental-jam types of music, preferably with homemade instruments.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bioluminescent plankton at midnight, in Puget Sound, streaking trails of irridescent yellow-green around the bow of my kayak, my paddle, my fingers. Just other-worldly.

Teach, Learn, Share

I LOVE this aspect of couchsurfing and it's probably the main interest I have in this community.
I can share any of the following enthusiastically:

Photoshop tips
Non-toxic printmaking techniques, using found objects
Singing saw
Tarot reading
Homemade Chai Tea
