ABOUT ME

Hi I'm Beth and this is Pasha. We've been living in Moscow the past three years and recently moved to the US. We can host because we have a condo.

We love travel and have been able to go lots of places, fortunately! Love listening, hate judging. Personality-wise I guess cheerful, introverted, silly, sleepy. I am someone who likes to constantly enrich myself and take life in as much as I can. I love to live. Life is like tea - both sweet and bitter at the same time. I drink it.

Pasha and I are both introverts, but we both really appreciate people, life, and experiences. We know how to shake it off when we have a bad experience and soak it in when we have a good one.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I think it would be fun to host people! I would love to help travelers along their way and exchange experiences. Pasha and I surfed with 5 different hosts for a whole month - it was awesome! I really like the idea of this site.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have "couch surfed" since I was 18 and started traveling and staying with host families. Whenever I get the chance, I stay with locals as opposed to a dorm. It's so much better for learning the language I'm immersing myself in and for experiencing the culture first-hand. My family has also hosted exchange students.

Interests

Art, museums, cinema, cooking food, eating food, baking and eating sweets, going to all kinds of concerts, exhibits, parks, etc., belly dancing, laughing, sleeping. I love dressing up in silly costumes and trying new things. I've done skydiving and riding in a hot air balloon. I think I would like to become a pilot.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love classical Russian lit, detective stories, all kinds of movies except horror, all kinds of music. I especially love drama/comedy and stupid comedy movies, independent and foreign films. I don't listen to music too often anymore but I really enjoy it when I do, especially live music. I like different genres, but it really depends on the song. A bit of an eclectic taste. Bluegrass, pop, rock, metal, country, reggae...you name it. I really like to read books, Pasha really likes to read articles. I don't read the news. Too depressing and incomprehensible. Better some good literature!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Rode camels all night up Mt. Sinai and watched the sunrise.
Rode elephants in Thailand.
Rode the hot air balloon in Buffalo area.
Rode horses in Russia.
Pasha's done diving in the Red Sea.
Beth's done skydiving.
Watched the sunset in Cambodian temples.

Teach, Learn, Share

I love teaching Russian and English as foreign languages. Perhaps I could teach you a few phrases. Pasha is a native speaker who's learning English. Perhaps he could practice with you!
