ABOUT ME

I am an interior designer living in Seattle, WA, practicing at a commercial architecture firm. I feel passionately about exploring where interior design and social justice intersect, and how I can further that agenda. I am currently planning an IIDA travel fellowship to research how interior design can help in solving homelessness, which will take me around the US and Europe during Spring 2019.

In general I love exploring new places, foods and experiences. Family & friends are extremely important to me, as are connections with new people. I am also passionate about the environment and try to practice sustainable living. I have a wonderful boyfriend who is patiently waiting for me to do this trip.

I believe that if you believe in something, there's no time like the present to take action.

COUCH SURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't couch surfed with anyone yet, but would love to stay with someone who can provide a local point of view & recommendations. I also really enjoy meeting new people and being exposed to new ways of living.

My travel fellowship has a limited budget so I am trying to stretch it as far as possible, having places to stay will greatly help.

INTERESTS

Cooking and experiencing diverse & delightful cuisines are an essential part of my life :)
Karaoke nights are a favorite.
As are a good night in with friends.
I'm more likely to drink sparkling water than I am alcohol these days.

MUSIC
Music varies depending on the mood, but I love the Hamilton soundtrack... and am a sucker for a good Taylor Swift song.

BOOKS
I just finished reading "The Devil in the White City"... what a great book! Novelistic historical non-fiction is fantastic.

MOVIES
Django Unchained is one of my favorite movies. Christoph Waltz is a phenomenal actor.

WWOOF'd for a summer... World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms.
I thought I wanted to be an organic farmer and lived on two farms in England for six weeks in my mid 20's. It was an enlightening experience, and while I still love gardening I do not intend to become an organic farmer. LOL

I passed the NCIDQ exam in 2018, National Council for Interior Design Qualification, which means I'm certified!
I also have the LEED Green Associate Certification.

I am clean and organized, and happy to keep your home in pristine condition.
I love cooking but I mostly need recipes for inspiration, so happy to help in the kitchen but can't guarantee my skills.
