Overview
About Me
Rock seems to define me, both the loud and the stony versions. I spend most of my time climbing, playing music or following my nose into some random adventure.
I recently discovered that my interest and engagement in sustainable (local) politics, environmental awareness and anti-hetero-normative prejudice is growing rapidly, giving me quite some new material to think and talk about.
Oh, and I adore pizza.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
So far I have hosted quite some couchsurfers in my previous apartment in Antwerp, and had some amazing experiences with couchsurfing hosts abroad.
I believe in social initiatives like Couchsurfing, and gladly help out giving them the momentum they need to stay alive and grow further.
Interests
When I'm not engineering software at work, you can probably find me in one of the following places :
- behind a drum kit in the rehearsal booth of Mount Venus, where I will be producing a lot of rhythmic noise (check us out on Spotify :p)
- on a indoor climbing wall or on the rocks in southern Belgium, France, or elsewhere, where I will be hanging or falling while trying to complete a new climbing challenge
- at friends, where I will probably be playing board games (I'm a proud D&D nerd), or doing something stupid but hopefully fun
- abroad, doing random shit :)
- partying
- politics
- board games
- bouldering
- music
- sports
- rock climbing
- engineering

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is a passion, so I always like to discover new bands, composers or musicians. To give you an impression of the bands and styles I like best, here comes a list of some of my favorites :
Rone, Thylacine, GoGo Penguin, Nils Frahm, Oceansize, James Blake, Sufjan Stevens, Mount Kimbie, Porcupine Tree, Jeff Buckley, Motorpsycho, A Perfect Circle, Tool, Radiohead, Isis, Mew, Philip Glass, Amplifier, Russian Circles, Baths, ...
I also like to watch a good movie (although I'm usually not very picky). Here's a list of some of which struck me as really good : True Grit, Crash, Perfume, Into The Wild, The Dark Knight, Memento, Cidade de Deus, Inception, No Country for Old Men, Crank, Shoot'm'Up, Django Unchained, Untouchables ...
And I would want to do it more often, but I read a book every once in a while. Some works i really liked : The Book Of Taltos (Steven Brust), The Night Angel Trilogy (Brent Weeks), Touching The Void (Joe Simpson), The Mistborn Trilogy (Sanderson), The Farseer Trilogy (R. Hobb), The Self Coached Climber, Daddy (Loup Durand), History of Nearly Everything (Bill Bryson), ...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've seen incredibly interesting cities, met amazing people, walked through remote and untouched nature, flown over great mountain ranges, climbed impressive rock formations, danced shirtless at the funnest parties, and never regretted a single thing. All of this left me awestruck, and much, much more. Hopefully this stream of experiences will never stop!
Teach, Learn, Share
I would gladly introduce people to sports climbing and bouldering. I'm always eager to polish up my foreign languages!
