About Me

I am very curious! I love to walk around new places and discover many things. Usually I listen more than I talk.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet new persons, discover new environments and new ideas, and learn a lot through experience!
It's also a way to enter a virtuous circle of non-economic solidarity, exchange, tolerance... I like that people host and are welcomed regardless of their economic status, just out of curiosity for other cultures and goodness of heart.

Interests

Contemporary art, cuisine, reading and writing, politics...
I love ice skating but I am so bad at it! I still can't stand on my own two skates without holding the barrier :)
I'm always trying to learn many things at the same time, which results in very approximate knowledge of many many bits of things.
Lately it's been yoga, Spanish, singing, political philosophy...

Music, Movies, and Books

Usually I like to read a lot of science-fiction, art literature, philosophy...
These days I have been reading "A brief history of Humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari. It's my favorite book in a really long time! Other than this I really enjoyed the Ender series by Orson Scott Card.

As for movies, well I also like science-fiction, arts, society...
2001: A Space Odyssey, 12 Angry Men, No Country for Old Men, There Will Be Blood, The Night of the Hunter, Un pigeon perché sur une branche philosophait sur l'existence, Citizen Kane, Fargo, Barton Fink, Brazil, District 9, ...

I used to watch some TV series, but I don't take the time any more, I particularly enjoyed True Detective, Black Mirror, Fargo, Sherlock, Misfits...

As for music, I like to be surprised! I come from a family of musicians, so I wouldn't say no to any kind of music.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach the basics of drawing, a little bit of art history, vegetarian cooking.
I would love to learn more Spanish, some yoga for very non-supple beginners... But then I am curious of everything that can be hand-made and useful! Do you know some sailing knots? Martial arts moves? Sign language? Emergency chocolate cake recipe? If yes, awesome!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook! Let's cook together and talk about culinary practices! We could also spend some time drawing in a public garden if the weather is good. If I host you I will totally take the time to make you discover the city and help you around if you want. I can also give you a tour of the Museum I work at.
