About Me

I was born in 1989 in western Germany, where I also grew up with my parents and my two older sibblings. After highschool I left my hometown and moved to Göttingen in Lower Saxony. For almost 6 years I lived together with my best friend in a shared flat. During that time I also started going out with my boyfriend Stefan (now my fiance). After my math, latin and computer sience studies I started working as a teacher in Mai 2014. Since then I live together with my fiance in Bonn and work at a highschool nearby.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My fiance and I are planning a round-the-world-trip which will take place from November 2015 to (hopefully) August 2016. We hope, that we will not only visit the countrys as mere tourists, but we are aiming to get to know the local culture and the people living there. So we would like to not, only see the great architecture, the cities and the beatyfull countryside but most of all to meet YOU, to get to know YOUR country and YOUR way of live.

Interests

During my freetime I like to sing and listen to guitar-music. Since I live in Bonn I'm also singing in a choir with my fiance.

Furthermore I have a special interest in getting to know how things work. So one day I wondered how to make clothes and I learned how to knit. After that was'n enough any more, I had to dig deeper and found out how to make a thread out of whool and bought myself a spinningwheel, which I still use to spin and calm down.

Music, Movies, and Books

When I was still a child, there was not a single day, where I wouldn't continue reading whatever book I was just interested in. Of course as I grew older I didn't have that much time for reading any more, but I still like to read in the evening before I go to bed.

As a teenager my favorite book was the Harry Potter Series (I know its really cliche for people my age). Nowadays I read more popular science books and I have a special interest in cognitive

Sadly I'm not very much into modern music, as I only listen to the radio when I drive my car. But I like Rock an Pop music the best. My favorite band is "Die Ärzte" which is a german punk-rock-band.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Going to Greece for half a year and leaving everything bothering in Germany:

During my studies at college I did an Erasmus-semester in Thessaloniki, Greece. That was one of the best things I've done in live as those 6 months had a really great influences on me. It was the first time I got to know a culture different from the one I grew up in. Coming from Germany a lot of things first seemed to be unorganized and really stressed me, but as I learned how to deal with the changed situation I got really chilled and got a whole new perspective on how things should be done and what priorities you assign to certain things.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sure there are a whole bunch of better pastry chefs than me, but I was told that I can make quite good pastry (and I also love to eat them), so I would be really happy to gladden you with some self made pastry.
