Overview
About Me
Hey, I'm Berken, 21 years old mechatronics engineering student from Turkey. I'm also a full-stack developer and work remote for a company that works on EV charging.
I live in Denizli and continue my education in Pamukkale University. Denizli is a touristic city with many historical places including Hierapolis and Laodicea, but the best-known attraction is Pamukkale travertines.
I love music so much, especially rock and blues. I also play guitar for a few years, but I'm not a professional guitarist. For me, it's a must to feel every note in a music. That's why I'm into the blues. You know "blues is easy to play, but hard to feel" as Hendrix said :)
I've been to Czechia during my Erasmus in 2019, and I stayed in Olomouc with a host. It was not through Couchsurfing, but it was my first time staying with a local. An unforgettable experience... We are still in touch, and so I want to continue meeting new people while traveling.
I've also been to Switzerland (Zurich, Bern, Geneva, Lausanne) and Italy (Milan, Bologna) in 2019. The best experience there was visiting CERN. I still can't forget Large Hadron Collider, that I was lucky enough to see after going 100 meters underground using a huge elevator.
After 5 years of nothing, fortunately I'm travelling again. I've been to Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic and Slovakia in September 2024. I used hostels for accommodation, because I was travelling with my friends.
And in October 2024, I'll be travelling through Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg and France. It'll be my first solo-travelling experience.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To meet new people like locals, or travelers like me. I want to build new friendships to explore the world together.
I would also like to host people who came to Denizli, which is where Pamukkale is.
