About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Use my creative talents to start businesses & new innovations that will help make the lives of other better

ABOUT ME

Self professed screw up who decided to leave my old life in California behind in order to reinvent myself. Of all places in the world, I ended up in Paramaribo Suriname simply because I met someone during a conference in the SF Bay Area who lived in Suriname. She offered my a free place to stay for a few months, so I sold most of my things, bought a plane ticket and took off into the great unknown. Turned out to be the greatest decision of my life because everything has been transforming for me. Anyone feeling stuck in their life should just get far away and allow some magic to happen!

PHILOSOPHY

My Personal Discovery is: If you walk away from everything you have and let go of everything you were, only then will you be given everything life has to offer

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I plan on using couch surfing a lot myself, so I figured it's only fair that I first pay if forward to others who are looking for a place to stay while they pass through Paramaribo Suriname. Besides, I love meeting new people all the time and anyone who is a traveler is almost always very interesting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It all started with my hosting someone who I met here in Paramaribo who is a member of the community, but he didn't post his request because he simply couldn't get the hotel booking he thought he'd get. We met on the street and I invited him to stay at my place. Meeting him was an amazing experience and hearing the wealth of knowledge he had from all his numerous travels was truly inspiring to hear. He told me to sign up for Couchsurfing immediately, so I did. Fast forward to January 2013... now after hosting 5 surfers already, I've made some amazing new friends and we've created great memories together that I will never forget. Hosting 2 or more surfers at the same time is the best because it makes for some of the best group dynamics for everyone.

Interests

I love anything high tech, Apple products, video cameras, and figuring out how to improve things. Love movies, listen to a variety of music (hip hop to classical) going for hikes, boating, going out to parties, hanging with friends, cooking, reading personal development books, meditation and fasting. Having philosophical discussions, playing board and card games. I also enjoy exercising and eating healthy foods.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

For starters, after screwing up one too many times with video clients I had back in Bay Area, California I found myself totally without any income. I stopped caring because I wasn't happy with the seemingly endless perpetual circle my life had been caught in. So I said screw it, I want no part of this life here anymore and then spent close to 4 months full time selling off about 90% of all my possessions. I had my car repossessed, packed the last items into a small storage locker, bought a one-way plane ticket to Suriname South America, packed 2 suit cases with just clothes, my Blentec Blender, some books, accessories and my laptop and then took off to stay with a friend I met who lived there with no clear idea of where exactly I was going, what I was going to do once I got there or how long I was going to stay in Suriname for. Just put my faith in the idea that it would all just work out... over 7 months later, all I can say is magic keeps happening to me now since I moved here and now I love it!

Teach, Learn, Share

I've been studying a lot about how to properly start and run businesses which now I see the vast majority of people who start one don't follow very well, if at all. Plus I've found some of the best personal change work strategies that have allowed me to completely overcome depression and low self-esteem including sound wave meditation technology which I enjoy teaching about to others.
