CURRENT MISSION
Not to establish a routine and search ideas
ABOUT ME
I am a relaxed person and tend not to get hung up if things do not work out as planned – that is how adventures are born ;). I enjoy getting out in nature. I am always happy to have people come and stay with me, as long as I am able to give some time to my guests (I can get busy at work). Really happy to get outside of Brisbane on the weekends, whether just a day trip or overnight.
PHILOSOPHY
Stop talking and listen to what people have to say.
My thought:
When I walk down a new road I focus on each individual pebble that I must pass and I complain how many there is to pass before I reach my destination. All I need to do is raise my eyes and I will experience a journey where the destination is no longer important. I simply need to grasp all the joy, warmth and challenge that is before me, everything that a moment is offering me.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have used both Hospitalityclub and Couch Surfing. I have both hosted and surfed. It is an excellent experience on both sides of the fence. As a host I will only accept guests if I am able to give some time to them because I feel this is an important aspect. I really see this as an exchange and not about free accomodation. I try to make all experiences unique. I hope at the end of a stay my guests will feel that they have 'taken something' away from their time in Brisbane.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
As I said above have hosted and surfed. Brilliant experiences, I was saying to someone the other day I have had a lot of kitchen table moments. Sitting around a kitchen table and being a little overwhelmed by everything. I suppose it is realising how fortunate I am to be able to share some time with people that I would not have otherwise met.
It changes a trip to a journey....
Interests
I enjoy nature and experiencing different things and cultures. I enjoy taking photos and have HEAPS on my website from various travels http://discoveringmoments.blogspot.com.au/
- traveling
Music, Movies, and Books
nothing specific, i like variety - especially in music. Anything from soft relaxing music up to hard rock (depending on my mood and the situation). Can recommend the Alchemist by Paulo Coelho for a good read.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling alone in the middle east was rather special. When i was in Wadi Rum in Jordan I took my sleeping bag, walked out into the desert found a nice place to sleep on the sand, made a fire and watched the sun set. I then was amazed at all the stars in the night sky.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think i am more in the learn area. But happy to talk about my life and travels - I certainly have some stories from that.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I am happy to share my travel experiences, always happy to get out in the garden to help out and I am told that my English is fairly easy to understand so happy to be used as practice :)
