About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore, and to make my life in the image of happiness.
ABOUT ME
I just updated this for the first time in years and was so excited to reread what I wrote when I first joined over 6 years ago. I am a passionate traveler, love having fun, love talking into the night and really love couch surfing. It has given me some of my most special moments traveling, and after a long hiatus I am thrilled to be back on! I just finished graduate school for public health and am now working to lower STD rates and help young people be advocates for their own sexual health.
PHILOSOPHY
It is impossible for me to describe my personal philosophy, but a huge part of it is the importance of talking to someone, and really getting to know them in person. Also fun. My partner and I are both on couch surfing, and we love having a good time. It is so important to add fun, adventure and discovery into your every day. As we age I think it is easy to loose site of the things we need to be happy because we might not have the time to get them. I really want to be inspired by others, and learn how to craft my day to day so it gives me all I need for happiness.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted and surfed, and really love both. I am still fairly new to hosting, because for a really long time I wasn't really able to. Now that I am, I am realy excited about being a host, and starting to travel again. I absolutely love couch surfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had an absolutely amazing time in Dublin couch surfing with a man named Simon. Before that experience I was a little skeptical, and he helped me learn that couch surfing was a community of wanderers, a lot like me, so I was able to find amazing people and wander with them.
I am still friends with people I met in Turkey, Vancouver, and all over. I cannot wait to start surfing/hosting again
Interests
I love theater, dance, trying something new, heights, good food (especially fresh fruit and chocolate milk), long talks, coasts, fuzzy things, board games, stars...I am also a bit of a health nerd. Not a workout nerd, just like learning about systems of health around the world, the body, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love Stardust, and Neil Gaimon in general. Like Water for Chocolate, all Tom Robbins books (he's probably my favorite), Omnivore's Delimma, Mark Twain, Tenesse Williams. I also love suggestions.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I lived in New Orleans for 2 years and sincerely think everyone should go and explore the lesser known parts of that city. The less publicized parts are really what make that city unique. I have been to Barcelona, Istanbul, Berlin, Paris, London, Toronto, Montreal, Warwick, and Israel, and have driven across the US 5 times now. I am slowly learning, however, that amazing things can be found or seen in places I would never expect. Roswell, New Mexico is one of my favorite places to visit.
Teach, Learn, Share
The best thing I have ever learned was to take the time and drink coffee with someone on their porch. Sounds weird, but what I think it means is just take the time to be with someone, and share and respect their space.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share stories and a great attitude. Friendship, a sense of adventure... Dinner. I love sharing meals, and am a really respectful guest. And I love exploring cities with locals, and finding the spots that tourists dont always see.
