Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Run all over the world!
ABOUT ME
I was a Machinist and decided to pursue my passions and became a yoga teacher. I ran marathons all over the world and love meeting people and seeing places by running. I now work as a supply teacher in local high schools and continue to teach yoga and running. I just recently went back to school to become trained as a Registered Massage Therapist.
PHILOSOPHY
Keep putting one foot in front of the other, you will reach the finish line.
Life is more about the experience than getting to some marked specific marked location. We learn best through overcoming adversity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I started off surfing on a few couches while traveling, and then hosted a few people once I was back at my own place. I love meeting new people and learning about different places all over the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I first couch surfed in 2007 in Amsterdam. My host was actually my cousin, so I didn't actually get onto the couch surfing network until 2009. I stayed on a couple couches in Dubai and New Zealand in 2009. I met several more hosts during a year long backpacking trip through Europe, Southeast Asia and Down under in Australia. Most recently, I did some surfing in South Africa and met some of the most amazing people I have ever met.
Interests
I love adventure and new challenges. I have run dozens of marathons and ultra marathons and love yoga. I also like live music and learning about all sorts of things.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a huge fan of Audiobooks so I listen to them all the time while I run or am in the car. I listen to mostly non-fiction, biographies, science and tech books as well as social and economic books.
I also love movies but barely find the time to sit down and watch one.
As a former member of a ska band (I played trombone) I love going to concerts and listening to most types of music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have run many marathons (76 last count) including Boston and the Great Wall Marathon, NYC, Disney, Amsterdam and Comrades. Saw many places while running in Siem Reap, Cambodia and in Kerala, India as well as in Australia and New Zealand.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have learned that the human body is capable of much much more than we give ourselves credit for. Most limitations we have are psychological. After going through teacher's college, I have become aware of many more of the pitfalls of our education systems, but also some ways we can more effectively teach our young, or anybody really.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My experiences from around the world, great conversation and food. There's not really a whole lot of touristy things to do in London, but if you want to go for a run or try some hot yoga I am definitely down to join you.
