Travel the world, meet like minded souls; make new friends, learn about other cultures and always respect others, be grateful for all that we have, who we meet, the lessons we learn and try to always make the world a better place.

ABOUT ME

We are gentle souls, living simply with respect for others and try to haveopen minds. Both of us have traveled extensively and enjoy meeting people from other cultures. In the next few years we plan to buy a sailboat and travel the world. Other interests include hiking, scuba diving, gardening, cooking, snowshoeing, exploring, and cost cutting. Nature does it for us....we love to camp and explore the beautiful lakes and mountains in Pacific NW. We are very easy going and love the idea of couch surfing.

PHILOSOPHY

Tread gently, especially in nature. Live simply and we are trying to learn to not depend so much on "stuff". We are both very happy and pretty content but we do want to spend the rest of our lives experiencing the world and all its wonderful treasures. CS has given us the opportunity to do it the way we always wanted to stay with welcoming locals who become our friends.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We look forward to meeting travelers from all over the world and sharing a meal and stories. We also like to travel ourselves and hope to surf with hosts in the Pacific NW and beyond.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

There's nothing like traveling and staying with the locals...we veer away from the big chains and impersonal hotels. It's nice to be able to afford to travel this way. In our travels we have stayed with many a kind soul and in kind we are willing to offer assistance to those who come our way.

Interests

Sailing, fishing, camping, hiking, biking, walking, travel, sharing and listening, cooking,, our Vitamix blender, learning new things and we both love our border collie who is super friendly with humans and other dogs and cats too!

Music, Movies, and Books

We just discovered Melody Gardot and really like her style. Enjoy eclectic international music...Edith Piaf, Gilbert Becaud, Charles Aznavour, etc.
Movies like "The razors edge" and "Beyond Rangoon"(Susan) "Brigadoon" ; "Walkabout" (Wolf) are some favorites.
A good book we just were blown away by "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Susan - Volunteer work in Honduras changed my life when I saw the poverty and victims of the war. Sharing a potato with villagers in Peru, it was all they had to eat but they offered to share. Planting olive trees in Crete. Working at Harrods in London and living through a bomb scare and seeing Princess Anne buy a hundred pound Alice in Wonderland. Fishing in Juneau. Being caught in a student uprising in Spain and Peru.
Wolf - while standing absolutely still on the edge of the dock on the northern tundra of Canada at the break of dawn, felt the wind on my face of a flock of geese flying past.

Teach, Learn, Share

Wolf can teach you how to sail, give you language lessons in German or French, make you delicious crepes for breakfast. Susan can talk with you about gardening, especially perennials and also teach you anything you might want to learn about gaming.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We would love to prepare you a meal or two and get to know you over a glass of wine. We also love to talk about traveling so we can share our travels and we would love to hear about yours. We love to invite those who have hosted us to come visit our home in Bellingham, WA.
