Overview
About Me
Hey Couchsurfers! I'm Bharat, new to this awesome community and ready to connect with people from all corners of the world. Originally from India, I’m now based in the Netherlands, where I’m juggling studies, travel dreams, and a borderline obsession with finding the best hiking spots.
When I’m not out wandering through nature or trying to cook something that hopefully doesn’t set off the smoke alarm, you’ll probably find me with my nose in a book, getting lost in history podcasts, or figuring out my next backpacking adventure. I’m a sucker for a good story—whether it’s from a book, a hike, or just a random conversation over coffee (or maybe something stronger!).
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m new to Couchsurfing and excited to be part of this global community! As a student living abroad, I think there’s no better way to truly experience a place than by meeting locals and fellow travelers. I’m here not just to find places to stay, but to create meaningful connections, share experiences, and hopefully discover some off-the-beaten-path adventures!

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to movies, I’m all about the thrill of a good crime or thriller (bonus points if it keeps me guessing!). That said, I do have a soft spot for the occasional romcom—sometimes you just need a bit of feel-good fun, right?
Musically, I’m stuck in the glorious era of the 90s and early 2000s. Give me some classic tunes from that time, and I’m set for the day! There’s just something about that era that hits differently.
As for books, I’ve been diving into some great reads lately. Losing My Virginity by Richard Branson gave me major inspiration, Blackout left me thinking about the world’s energy future, and Before the Coffee Gets Cold was the perfect mix of time travel and life’s “what if” moments.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: Teach: Ready to step into my kitchen for a culinary adventure? I can show you how to whip up some delicious Indian dishes (with a side of laughter and maybe a few kitchen mishaps!).
Learn: I’m eager to learn more about local traditions, hidden gems in your city, or maybe even pick up a few words in your language. If you’ve got some good hiking or travel tips, I’m all ears!
Share: I can share some great travel stories, and I’m happy to bring a bit of my culture and experiences from living abroad to the conversation. Oh, and if you’re a 90s music fan, we can totally jam out together!
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a guest, I bring a curious and open mindset, always up for good conversation and cultural exchange. I’d be happy to cook something from my home country (or try a new recipe together!). Whether it’s swapping travel stories, learning about local life, or just hanging out, I’m here to make new memories!
