ABOUT ME
am wondering what this is all about, what magic we create
what strange shapes, keep you awake,
with what grace you kill and create,
wondering how and why you want to relate
(okay, i'm sure this seems a bit confusing)
but i've found mice elf looking
and hoping to find
people who appreciate the finesse behind
true effort, fine wine, sweat, and creative cooking (sans recipe)
toss two parts climbing, skiing, and one part whatever
Shake til you dance to good measure
mix with strangers seasoned to taste
pour tears and strong talk liberally, then
spit wine on fingers,
rub down with spice
give me enough
black powder and purpose
and we'll split concrete and goddamn dams
With planted seeds up inside come
(soul food and fusion will subvert the dominant paradigm)
take the natural tendency
towards fear and indecision
Massage and tenderize
rub in sea salt and cover in cut chiles
sear under sunlit skies
change the pace
pour the wine
toss two parts tequila, one part talk
mix in never knowing then suddenly find
other kindred souls so close
while in wide open spaces
strangers find
themselves
each and the other
and don't forget
to kill the bottle
lick the poison
from your fingers spicy
before starting fires
in smoky sunlit kitchens
while plotting revolutions on the floor
pour marinade over self and mezcal inside, simmer,
enjoy
PHILOSOPHY
the horizons of our world
are all ways getting broader
every inch of creation
is or has been infused with life itself
Thank gravity and water for most everything else
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
instigator. completor. in betweener start and finisher. mostly, i just try to relate.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
born gypsy, have camper, do travel. I'm normally self-sufficient, via my mobile two ton toybox, so its unusual for me to truly couchsurf. Definitely open to backporch surfing, or backyard surfing, or just looking for partners in play and a place to stay while playing in place, er...
Interests
getting dirty, greasy, sweaty, loopy, and stupid.
i am: a grease monkey, a professional search and rescue coordinator for the National Park and ex- US Antarctic Program, a biologist, evading my taxes, looking for marbles, a vintage stamp collector, pretty good at swinging a hammer, bashing my thumb, litigation of the ridiculous, and trying my hand at poetry.
i like:
to misspell werds, not capitalize my eyes, and pretend i failed grammar in fifth grade.
i also like:
red pepper, cumin, garlic, and fennel
crossing streets with the girl next door
sun struck, dirt smeared, and dog-eared climber/surfer/skier types
i'd like to know who combed my hair
cuz it musta been a killer party!
all i remember about it was
climbing ice/rock/trees/towers,
"simply cuz they're there"
climbing in/out of bed/boats/the bottom of a wine bottle, dancing till we couldn't stand, creating chaos in the kitchen, forgetting that we might be spending our future today, cold stone chillin with our amigos hundreds of feet high and pitches and pitches to go, nightfall in open places, talking love in open spaces, and...
climbing (ice/alpine/rock), kayak, telemark, snowboarding, and...
typing. i love typing.
