Overview
About Me
I am a cheerful, sprightly person brought up in a loving family surrounded by great friends. My curiosity has led me to take up science in my studies. Animals and the environment hold a dear place in my heart. Dancing and fitness has been my passion for a long time and I continue to pursue them with enthusiasm. I am a voracious reader and enjoy profound conversations about the human existential dilemma over warm soothing beverages. One will usually find me catching up with friends, going on weekend treks, working out or in the movies, during my spare time. I'm also a certified open water and advanced diver from PADI.
Travelling is like second nature to me. It has transformed me from a shy, naive, dull person to a confident, well-adjusted pleasing personality. Every summer during school years was spent trekking or travelling. The knowledge and culture that one absorbs while on a trip is unparalleled. I recently did a backpacking trip through India that lasted 5 months and I learnt more about the country during that time than I did my whole life.
I have an entrepreneurial venture where I try to bring fitness to people's homes as I believe that it should be an integral part of everyone's lives and the priority fitness is given in my country is very low. I also tutor kids in my free time and participate in community events.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe that travelling varies greatly from vacationing. Travelling involves interacting with the locals, trying the cuisine, getting absorbed in the culture of the place and understanding the society through the eyes of the people indigenous to a particular area. I don't believe in staying in a resort and ticking off places on a sightseeing card. I am on Couchsurfing to quench my thirst for "travelling" while making some great friends and gathering memorable experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't listen to music much but when I do my taste is eclectic.
I'm a huge comic book fan. Prefer Marvel to DC but it's pretty close. I also watch Science Fiction movies as they make me believe that it's just a prelude to science fact. Other genres I like include thrillers and comedies.
I absolutely love science fiction and fantasy novels. I also read some philosophical books and biographies for overall development. My all time favourite book is 'A Million Little Pieces'.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My friend and I went on a backpacking trip throughout India for 5 months. As India is not a country that is familiar with the concept of backpacking, this venture came with a whole set of challenges. As apprehensive I was while the trip started, it turned out to be the best 5 months. Like ever!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A Lifetime of Adventures!
I have done 3 major Himalayan treks and countless smaller ones. The Himalayas are a global hub for people from all over the world and I've met many many interesting people over the years. My backpacking trip came with a whole set of challenges and has made me very wise about travelling in India (truly a country of contrasts). As a fellow traveller, I'm sure you can imagine the number of stories I'm brimming with. ;)
I'm a certified fitness trainer and wold love to workout with my hosts. I also give a lot of importance to organic food and wholesome eating so as to gain maximum nutritional value from a vegetarian meal. Cooking is one of my passions and would love to cook my hosts a meal! :)
