Overview
About Me
I grew up in the Washington, DC area of the US. I'm attending university in the US, but currently studying abroad in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I study Environmental Science & Policy and English Language & Literature. I enjoy creative writing, reading, talking to people, and and spending time outdoors in any way. I'm care about bettering human lives in any way possible, conservation and preserving the planet, and kindness/tolerance. I love meeting all kinds of people with all kinds of opinions and ideas.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to meet cool people while traveling!
Interests
I grew up with a love for reading, but it has taken a bit of a back seat to travel and human interaction in the past couple years -- there are so many places to see and people to talk to! I love singing, dancing, and exploring new places. Food is the first thing I try in a new country, and I almost always love it. I like running, playing soccer (futbol), skiing, biking, hiking, and scuba diving.
Music, Movies, and Books
🎼 I love to sing, and really enjoy concerts, including classical or folk music whenever I can see it live and authentically. I'm usually listening to music when walking or running or doing nothing, and a good variety of music as well.
📚Books and authors I like: The Alchemist by Paolo Coelho, Jane Austen novels, Margaret Atwood's fiction, Lord of the Rings Series, and many more.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Got my scuba diving certification in the Thai islands!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English (and could probably start you on basic Spanish). I want to be *fully fluent* in Spanish so that I can also start learning other languages like French, Portugese...as many as I can!
I share everything, and talk about everything. I am an extremely open person, and am happy to speak on any subject. I rarely get uncomfortable/awkward! 🙂
What I Can Share with Hosts
Something a little different is that I can share (probably unknown) elements of Panamanian culture. I have lived in the US my whole life so I am an expert on much of US culture in every way -- singing, dancing, silly sayings, good food. If you're ever traveling to DC or Boston, or the east coast at all really, I have a myriad of suggestions!
I also just like having good conversation, am willing to share what I can, especially if it's over good food and wine!
