About Me

Just to be clear: Couchsurfing is not tinder and I’m not here to have sex either to date anyone! 🧚🏽‍♂️🧚🏽‍♂️🧚🏽‍♂️

Hi everyone, my name is Bianca. :)
I have thought long about what to write here, then I decided to ask for advice from my family and friends asking them how they would describe me. I got a lot of different answers, but most of all, I was struck by the description of a friend of mine who responded in English saying I am creative, sociable and caring. I really like the meaning of "caring", a “kind person that gives emotional support to others”. She also said that I'm pretty headstrong, which is actually true: I defend my idea until I get good reasons to change it, but I am always open to views exchange.
I get excited about lots of stuff, like shadows, reflections, "things that move" - such as sea waves, people in the subway, landscapes from the train, hair moved by the wind, hands at work - street art, spider webs, abandoned places, lights, tangles of branches and so much more.
I also have a big passion for photography, especially street and documentary photography: if I had to bring only one thing with me, it would surely be my camera. I love to impress in a photo what I see around me without changing the scene or putting people in pose. (If you're interested, here're my profile https://www.instagram.com/biancaorsini/)
Furthermore, I like theatre and circus, for both of them I have joined groups where I practice with wonderful people. I am currently doing aerial acrobatics and a kind of theatre called "poor", a performance style that focuses on the skills of the actor and rid itself of the excesses of theatre, such as lavish costumes and detailed sets: it's like moving to another place standing still.

I recently moved to Turin to study here, after a gap year spent fooling around Europe and South America.
Please read my home section before writing me!
Beyond the more unpleasant situations that may have arisen a few times, fortunately rare and ended well, I mostly had wonderful experiences meeting very special people with couchsurfing. Since I believe this platform has enormous potential in creating relationships and I would like to continue to think so, I'd ask you to please read my profile and write to me only if you really think there could be an interesting exchange :)

Current mission:
finding new vibrations ☀️☀️

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In Italian, the name “Bianca” means "white": if we think of white as the result of the combination of primary colors, yes, I'm really "Bianca". Living in colors and lights, I like to move around to find new shades, so I’m always looking for open minded people around the world to share time with.
I’m looking forward to change my point of view and make new friends, Couchsurfing is a reeeally great opportunity.
Hope to see you soon!

Music, Movies, and Books

In the last times I'm particularly keen on Funky and Afrobeat, but I listen to many different types of music, from Techno, to Jazz, to Rock, to Soul, something Indie and other songs that I cannot classify in a genre.
Just to explain a little better this super vague answer, here's a (definitely not updated) list of some of my favorite songs updated at the moment of writing

I actually can't give them an order:
- Wraith Pinned to the Mist and Other Games, of Monreal
- Marechià Nu Genea
- I wonder, Protassov
- Lovin' and Touchin', Red Hot Chili Peppers
- Time (You and I), Khruangbin
- Alegría, Elia y Elizabeth
- Walking Slow, Moderator
- Giorgio by Moroder, Daft Punk
- Isn't she lovely, Tom Misch
- You know I'm no good, Amy Winehouse
- Lo scrutatore non votante, Samuele Bersani
- Tainted Love, Milky Chance
- Lullaby, The Cure
- Every Planet We Reach Is Dead, Gorillaz
- Feel Good Inc., Gorillaz
- Dream On, Depeche Mode
- México, Mexican institute of Sound
- Das Jazzhaus, Jazzkantine (I actually don't understand any word in German, but I really like the way it sounds in their songs)
- After Midnight, J.J. Cale
- They Say I'm different, Betty Davis
- Suricate, Vidéoclub
- Rotolando verso Sud, Negrita
- Se Ti Tagliassero a Pezzetti, Fabrizio de Andrè
- Amore povero, Dutch Nazari

It's also very difficult to talk in short about the books I like, I couldn’t rank it. I like to read novel and non-fiction especially on gender studies and equality issues and I'm also in love with poetry. My favorite authors are perhaps Erri De Luca, Goliarda Sapienza, Emmanuel Carrère, Marcela Serrano and Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, but they represent only a small part.

Same goes for films, I like Bernardo Bertolucci and Gaspar Noé as director, but there are sooo many great movies made by others.
Lately, I watched and appreciated a lot The ignorant Fairies by Ferzan Özpetek, Memento by Nolan, Paterson by Jim Jarmusch and Dogville by Lars Von Trier.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wuuuuf writing about yourself is such a hard challenge!

Teach, Learn, Share

I love to meet new souls: to speak with them, maybe to help them - sometimes just listening, sometimes saying my opinion - and to make little things that could make someone a feel a little happier. When I meet a person who knows something well or is very interested in it, I always have a lot of questions. I want to talk about so many different topics, from philosophy to politics to psychology, different cultures, books, music and so on, I think each person would grow on me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

To all the people I'm going to meet with cs I can offer loong chats about anything and everything and positive vibes! If you feel comfortable with that, I'd probably like to take some pictures of you while we share life at home. I do handcraft like jewels and earrings with resin, metal foils, copper wire and stones, I could make one for you during my stay or show you what I learned about it. Also, I quite enjoy cooking, maybe we could cook together different dishes to try both something new (but it’s ok if you don't like cooking, you can leave me in the kitchen and eat!).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Switzerland
