About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I may occasionally have space for people but only if they can help out (9am to 4pm) in the market garden, in exchange for food and accommodation.
ABOUT ME
Hi! My name's Oisin and I'm back in my home town of Galway, Ireland since 2010 after spending three of the years travelling/living abroad. I consider myself adventurous, sporty, friendly and eager to repay some of the random kindness of strangers I've encountered on my travels..
PHILOSOPHY
Do what you love
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I really love being able to meet such wonderful, open minded people that I've encountered through couchsurfing and since this is the busiest I've ever been, I am willing to see if this experiment works. I'll provide the basic food and accomodation ( I live alone and have two spare bedrooms 10kms outside Galway city with regular bus access to the city and beyond) in exchange for helping me with my farming most days you'll be with me. This will mainly consist of helping taking care of an acre of 30 different vegetables in a field and greenhouse....hoeing, weeding, sowing, transplanting, feeding and sometimes maybe moving livestock.
I now have 'wwoofers' living with me year round helping out and I'm almost booked up for the rest of the year but if you're eager and interested there might be a way I can host you. If you want to know more, check out my business page on facebook 'bia oisin' or take a tour on youtube by seaching 'bia oisin sept tour'
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've met some of the most amazing, welcoming and hospitable people in my entire life. If my faith in humanity was ever in question, this would be the answer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rescued a leprechaun while riding a unicorn over a right-angled rainbow late one St. Patricks Day...
Teach, Learn, Share
Drink Guinness in pubs where old men drink during the day (the Guinness doesn't stagnate in the lines so the taste is far superior). Try a bottle of Buckfast wine (sweet tasting, high alcohol, very high caffeine levels and a favourite of Galwegians).
I enjoy discussing a wide range of topics/issues with all sorts of people. My total focus now in life revolves around pracitising Permaculture and spreading all the awesome design/management concepts I'm learning from it. Permaculture is a design framework that focuses on sustainable, low-input/high-output methods of food production, energy generation and home building.
