"So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity and conservatism, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more dangerous to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future. The very basic core of a man's living spirit is his passion for adventure. The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon. For each day to have a new and different sun."
(Jon Krakauer)
“Anyone whose goal is 'something higher' must expect someday to suffer vertigo. What is vertigo? Fear of falling? No, Vertigo is something other than fear of falling. It is the voice of the emptiness below us which tempts and lures us, it is the desire to fall, against which, terrified, we defend ourselves.”
(Milan Kundera)
"If every single man and woman, child and baby, acts and conducts itself in a known pattern and breaks no walls and differs with no one and experiments in no way and is not sick and does not endanger the ease and peace of mind or steady unbroken flow of the town, then that unit can disappear and never be heard of."
(John Steinbeck)
"Nowadays most people die of a sort of creeping common sense, and discover when it is too late that the only thing one never regrets are one's mistakes.”
(Oscar Wilde)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
/ H O S T I N G
It's like travelling without travelling. Also because of that magical feeling of mutual trust between host and surfer, even without knowing each other at all. Magic happens. Also makes you discover new places in your own city which is awesome.
/ S U R F I N G
I honestly believe that the best way of enjoying a place you visit is by getting to know it with people who live there and can show you the insights of it. Here also applies the "trust feeling" mentioned before.
Interests
/ I N T E R E S T S
Always up fore concerts and festivals, I prefer sunrise to sunset, though I have a hard time waking up early. I don't mind traveling alone but I always enjoy good company. I'd rather ride a bike than walk. Really into whole foods and that stuff, love vegan and vegetarian cousine and am vegetarian myself.
