Overview
About Me
I live a lovely colourful life in Glasgow with my partner Mojtaba, and lot's of other great people around me! I've just sold my flat, so have a couple of months left here to have a few more guests in this beautiful bright flat before moving to a smaller house with a wee garden <3.
I spent Jan cycling over Spain and Portugal. Was magical! Have had some wee trips throughout the rest of the year, but starting to feel tired and ready for a big break soon. Sorry if I seem a little tired. It's been a packed year!
I've done a lot of big trips but one that I am so proud of was my bike trip from France to Morocco 2018-2019. I have been travelling to the other side of the world usually for my winter break but now, I am changing a little, going by land and over sea more slowly, and spending time with people and the environment. I got a ride to France with my Bike, and I cycled to Morocco. Amazing landscapes, crazy cycle routes and warm welcoming people.
Hosting
Hello! Welcome to my home, I have a super active lifestyle so sometimes like the space to myself to rest. I am happy to host, but only when I am not too busy. And prefer if it doesn't involve late nights/early mornings. Please warn me before if you expect to be coming back late or needing to leave early for travels. I also prefer to host those who travel with the environment in mind, using public transport, or cycling wherever possible! I have managed to get to Spain, France, Portugal and even Morocco without flying. And also enjoyed a lovely Scottish cycle trip too. It's more than 4 years since I've flown. But it might be time soon to visit someone very special who lives too far away for me to think how I could get there without flying.
I'm in a Scottish Samba band. I take people cycling around my city. I know all the beautiful spots around here!
I love to make new friends and share what I know and have, and learn about the world and the beautiful people in it ! Everyone is welcome. No matter what gender, race, sexual orientation. I would love to welcome you to my home and city.
I do some volunteer work welcoming asylum seekers to my city so have a wonderful groups of friends from around the world here in my city. Welcome to join the International family!
CURRENT MISSION
to explore, enjoy, share, and heal the world! cycle - freecycle - recycle - upcycle !
ABOUT ME
I am Eilidh from Scotland, you are all my family and you are welcome in my home wherever you are from! I do some jobs related to cycling and art for health, community and environment improvement.
For 12 years I volunteered for a few months every year in a home for women and girls with special needs in Sri Lanka. So, if I'm not at home working or doing some small travels I am often there! People are also welcome to visit there, they love to have guests also.
Winter 2014 I had a great time in BRAZIL!! :) Taking a break from work, and busy Glasgow life, and full on Sri Lankan volunteer work. I had a small trip on the coast by bike. The people I met and stayed with welcomed me more than I could imagine. Time for me to welcome you now!!!
PHILOSOPHY
Enjoy your life to the max - breathe, eat, play, draw, sing, dance, explore, share, care!
Respect others, and give and share as much as you can (but try to remember to keep a bit for yourself, I forget that sometimes and burn out!)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have had guests through Hospitality club previously, but it doesn't seem as active anymore. I am using couch surfing for both finding accom while travelling and also enjoy hosting.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
It's such an amazing club. Nice to have the world in your home when you re not travelling, and the best way to meet local people and experience local life when you are on your travels.
I started on Hospitality club -- you can check my references here --- http://secure.hospitalityclub.org/hc/travel.php?cid=eilidh

Music, Movies, and Books
reading shanteram, after many people telling me to read it, I couldn't find it before I left for my trip... then after a few days cycling in India, I met another guy cycling in the opposite direction who finished it that day and wanted to pass it onto someone :) how is that for karma! :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
even small things amaze me! :)one thing I found really amazing was when I was in a school for deaf and blind children in Scotland and a guy was playing some music and singing, a girl who couldn't hear had her hand on his throat to feel the vibrations and was singing with him!!
Also recently at a special school I was working with small children who have disabilities; a small boy who can only walk with a frame.. got on a special bike and was zooming around no bother! :)
