ABOUT ME

I'm a friendly, thoughtful person. I grew up in Northern California, lived in France for 3 years, then Michigan for 2 years, then Texas for 4.5 years working and earning a master's degree in Urban Planning. I've traveled a lot with friends, and alone: driven to lots of places in the US and taken the train all over Europe. In 2012, I spent 11 months traveling in Southeast Asia, India, Turkey, and back up to Europe.
I like camping, backpacking, the outdoors, swimming, climbing, etc. I live in a nice house near downtown San Jose that I share with 4 guys. We're 3 blocks away from the Light Rail.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't hosted, but I get the concept and respect the point a lot. I hitch hiked and traveled around Europe in my early 20's, and some very nice strangers gave me rides, or let me stay at their houses. I've had lots of wonderful meals with generous people. I couch surfed in Arizona with a really nice guy. It helped me with the trip from Texas to California. I would like to return the favor.

Interessi

I love riding my bike in town for transportation and for fun (not a serious spandex road biker yet), mountain biking, everything outdoors: camping, backpacking, swimming, skiing, kayaking, sailing, going to the beach, listen to live music, etc.

Travel for 11 months in South East Asia, India and Turkey. Scuba diving in Thailand and the Andaman Islands. Snorkeling in the Philippines. Riding a scooter with my friend Jenna on Isla Mujeres in Mexico. Climbing up a Yucatan Mayan pyramid. Skiing at a very huge ski resort in France. Snow shoeing in the Alps. Rock Climbing the Calanques near Marseilles with the water under your feet. Live, talented open mic in Glasgow. Karaoke in Paris. Grand Tetons. Canyons. Yosemite.

I lived in France for 3 years, took the train all over, went up into the mountains with friends at New Years, backpacked, rock climbed on the Mediterranean. Awesome stuff. My French is a bit rusty, but it's still quite good.
