About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Making the world a better place through learning and sharing

ABOUT ME

I am super easy-going and flexible. I love adventure and trying new things, and meeting new people. I love nature and sharing cooking recipes.

I currently live in Seattle, WA and attend the University of Washington with two orange cats, Timi and Cubby (yes, my cats do homework with me, though always skip class).

PHILOSOPHY

making the world a better place by practicing love and compassion towards all living things every moment of every day.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would love to meet more local people who have similar interests in learning, traveling, and building community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have some good friends who have turned me on to couch surfing recently, and I have unofficially been doing it for years, having friends come to visit and staying with them from Chile, Germany, Guatemala, and France.

Interests

I love reading, and learning especially about other cultures and ways of life. I like to do artwork and garden and cook. I like riding bikes and hiking and just walking around exploring new places.

Music, Movies, and Books

Don't have a TV, but watch movies and documentaries on Netflix. I have an extensive book collection - probably my favorite genre is magical realism - "Eva Luna" by Isabel Allende, "God of the Small Things" by Arundhati Roy, and "Como Agua para Chocolate" by Laura Esquivel. I am also interested in spirituality, philosophy, art, and history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my best friends and I went to Peru where I organized a conference for work. We spent a week traveling around, made it to Arequipa and went on a mountain biking day trip - we rode mountain bikes 26 miles down hill through rocks, sand, and bushes. We also stayed over night on the island, Amantani, in the middle of Lago Tititcaca with Maruja and her family. She cooked for us and on a walk at night we saw the Milkyway, which she said is called "El Rio," (the river). The whole trip was one of the coolest experiences I've ever had.

Teach, Learn, Share

I LOVE to cook and would love to learn more from others. I want to learn about different cultures, ideas, and worldviews and share mine if others are interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm flexible and easygoing, and always clean up after myself. I have this habit of always helping with dishes when over at someone's house, my mom instilled this in me. I'd love to meet you!
