ABOUT ME

I am a man who is interested in people and places. I started travelling when I was 20. Since 2006 I have travelled with my wife - Joanna with whom I have a son - Tomek - who was born in February 2015. Because of the fact that we travell together and we invite guests to our common house this profile is dedicated to our whole family.

I am a construct engineer. I've worked mostly in Poland, in Spain and in Libya. I studied in Poland, Slovakia and Spain. Joanna is a PhD student and she's finishing her thesis in British and Polish literature. She's also interested in philosophy nad theology.

During our studies we travelled a lot aroud Europe, mostly by hitch-hiking. Then, we've broadened our horizons a bit: we've travelled to Marcco, Georgia, Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh, Syria, Jordania, Israel, China and Ghana.

We find Couchsurfing a great alternative for the mainstream tourist industry which usually violates places (and sometimes people) transformed in the money-making machines.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We invite guests not only to our house but also to our home in Katowice! Upper Silesia is not among the most touristically attractive places that usually come to people's minds but we can guarantee that it's beauty is not so deeply hidden ;) We would eagerly show our guests the interesting things around and we have great music festicals; e.g. OFF festival.

When it come to such hobbies as: parachuting or collecting dried butterflies, then no, we don't have any. We are trying to make our whole life as interesting as possible and we spend most of our time doing so. But we do like skating or playing pentanque and other games.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

We like various kinds of music - I like folk and rock mostly and Joanna prefers classical jazz and blues. We like movies of such directors as: Woody Allen, Quentin Tarantino, Wes Anderson and others. When it comes to books... well, Joanna would definitely make a long list...

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

We travelled through Ukrainian Carpthians in the night and lightening storm and it rained heavily... It wasn't quite planned trip but... how adventurous!
