About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Discover America, the land I've lived in for 26 years and really don't know...

ABOUT ME

Hello my name is will. I was recently told that the meaning of my name is helmet and desire, which I find rather odd. Maybe a bit like horoscopes where things are just vague and fit to everyone? But anyways I am currently endeavouring on a 3 month trip in Europe. Original plan was to learn German better and now it has turned into a giant euro trip, which is quite alright with me. I come from Virginia USA originally but am proud to be hailing from Colorado for the past three years. I love to ski and love to drink beer and when I have the time and money I like to enjoy golf with a cigar or two. I don't smoke cigarettes. I enjoy a good concert and nothing will beat the amazing venue of red rocks which I love to frequent. I do have cats, which some people find odd, but honestly I grew up with them and I don't have to wake up in the middle of the night to walk them and let them take a crap. I love to cook and if you can show me new recipes I would love to meet you. My current arsenal of recipes is getting old and boring. Until we meet.

PHILOSOPHY

"Help me use my heart and not my eyes to navigate the darkness"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love being able to show people the city I live in and help to discover the things I love about Denver

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing has been great for me. I truly believe that only a small portion of the experiences you gain from travel are from seeing the sights and whatever else you can throughout a city. The true value you get in traveling is meeting new people and experiencing new cultures from a new perspective. I've found that couch surfing has been a great way for me to meet locals through surfing as well as just random meet ups. I know it's cheesy, but the saying "it's not the destination, it's the journey" can really sum up why I love couch surfing. Being in a city is the destination, but meeting people and learning new things you would have never learned without them is the journey.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Dave matthews, Pretty lights, big gigantic, zac brown band

Movies: haven't really gotten into that many movies. I feel disadvantaged because I've missed out on many classics (I.e. godfather, pulp fiction, usw.).

Books: only when they're on tape, or would sudoku count? :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Renting a scooter in Rome and finding out that there are no traffic lanes and then taking two hours to find the Vatican when we were 15 minutes away, all the while having the most amazing time
